    摘要: A pair of connector housing may be temporarily engaged so as to facilitate efficient connection operation thereof. A lever 15 is pivotably attached to a side wall of the male connector housing 11. When a female connector housing 12 is inserted into the male connector housing 11, a cam receiving protrusion 17 of a cover 13 resiliently deforms lugs 15a of a lever 15 to be opened, so that the cam receiving portion may be advanced through a portion 23 into a cam groove 16. After such advancement, lugs 15a are returned to their original position by means of resilient deformation, so that the portion 23 is engaged with the cam receiving protrusion 17, so as to prevent dislodgement of the cam receiving protrusion. The thickness of the portion 23 of the cam groove is selected so as to prevent dislodgement of the cam receiving protrusion. A restricting protrusion 24 is protruded laterally from the cam receiving protrusion 17. The restricting protrusion serves to urge the lugs 15 downwardly, so as to maintain constant amount of engagement between the cam receiving protrusion 17 and the portion 23 of the cam groove. Another restricting protrusion 25 extending in a vertical direction may be provided in the side wall 1 of the male connector housing 11.

    摘要: This invention prevents a wrong contact of terminals when one of a pair of connector housings is inserted into the other housing in a slanted position. In the connector of this invention, a female connector housing 12 is provided on opposite ends with guide ribs 21 which extend in an insertion direction and serve as guide elements when the female connector housing 12 advances into a hood 13. The female connector housing 12 is provided with a wedge like resistance-applying projection 24 which extends vertically while a male connector housing 11 is provided on an interior of the hood 13 with a groove in which the projection 24 advances. Upon insertion of the female connector housing 12, the projection 24 press-contacts with a slot 25 so as to generate an insertion resistance, thereby correcting an imbalance of the insertion resistance of the terminals 14.

    摘要: A plastic frame 13 for electrical connectors has an open end 14. A closing plate 18 of plastic is connected to one side of the open end by means of a living hinge. A cover 24 for covering electrical wires is integrally formed on the upper side of the frame 13. During assembly, the closing plate 18 is opened and each connector 1 is inserted into the frame 13 by sliding protruding members 11 along guiding grooves 15. Then the closing plate 18 is closed and latched. The electrical wires coming out of the connector 1 are simultaneously collected together under the cover 24. For disassembly, the closing plate 18 can be unlatched and each connector pulled out one by one.

    摘要: Male sub-connectors 3 are accommodated in apertures 2 formed in a male frame 1, and female sub-connectors 23 are accommodated in apertures 22 formed in a female frame 21. A guide wall 15, on the inside of which the female frame 21 fits closely, is provided around the entire periphery of the top surface of the male frame 1. The female frame 21 is temporarily assembled with hooks 56, which engage longitudinal grooves 57 in the guide wall 15. When a lever 40 is operated so as to draw the male and female frame together, the guide wall 15 ensures the connectors themselves are relieved of lateral loads. In an alternative embodiment a similar arrangement is provided between one pair of connectors tightly engaged in the respective frames.

Cut-away windows 14 are formed in the two side walls 9, and clamping members 15 are able to open and close via self-hinges 20. After the female housings 1 have been inserted into the apertures 8 the clamping members 15 are pivoted and locked to retain the female housings 1. A cover 3 encloses the wires and double locks the clamping members in the closed condition. In an alternative embodiment the cover itself holds the connector housings in place.

Thus, the molding pins (14) can be short and are less likely to deform when subjected to pressure from resin during molding.

    摘要: A connector has means for preventing terminal fittings from being inserted in an inverted manner, and in which nothing protrudes from outer faces of these terminal fittings. Cut-away portions 17 are formed at a ceiling side of anterior ends of left and right side plates 11B of a box-shaped member 11 of a terminal fitting 10. Protrusions 34 are formed within a cavity 24 at anterior ends of left and right wall faces thereof, in locations somewhat removed from a wall face having a lance 26 formed thereon. These protrusions 34 are capable of fitting into the cut-away portions 17. When the terminal fitting 10 is correctly inserted, the protrusions 34 fit into the cut-away portions 17, and the terminal fitting 10 is pushed into a correct position and is retained by the lance 26. When the terminal fitting 10 is inserted in an inverted manner, the anterior end of the box-shaped member 11 strikes against the protrusions 34 before the terminal fitting 10 reaches the correct position. Consequently, the terminal fitting 10 is prevented from being inserted any further, and it is not retained by the lance 26.
