    摘要: A holding wall (6) of a connector housing (1) has terminal holding holes (7) for receiving terminal fittings. Two tight holding walls (11) are formed at opposite sides of each terminal holding hole (7) on the outer surface of the holding wall (6). The terminal fitting is pressed into the terminal holding hole (7) and between the tight holding walls (11). Further, the terminal holding holes (7) are formed by molding pins (14) having a length substantially equal to the thickness of the holding wall (6) and contact plates (13) that contact the leading ends of the molding pins (14). Thus, the molding pins (14) can be short and are less likely to deform when subjected to pressure from resin during molding.

Insertion of the insulating pieces 25 disengages the projections 18c from the rear edges 15d, to allow the short-circuit part 16 to be taken out.

    摘要: A pair of connector housing may be temporarily engaged so as to facilitate efficient connection operation thereof. A lever 15 is pivotably attached to a side wall of the male connector housing 11. When a female connector housing 12 is inserted into the male connector housing 11, a cam receiving protrusion 17 of a cover 13 resiliently deforms lugs 15a of a lever 15 to be opened, so that the cam receiving portion may be advanced through a portion 23 into a cam groove 16. After such advancement, lugs 15a are returned to their original position by means of resilient deformation, so that the portion 23 is engaged with the cam receiving protrusion 17, so as to prevent dislodgement of the cam receiving protrusion. The thickness of the portion 23 of the cam groove is selected so as to prevent dislodgement of the cam receiving protrusion. A restricting protrusion 24 is protruded laterally from the cam receiving protrusion 17. The restricting protrusion serves to urge the lugs 15 downwardly, so as to maintain constant amount of engagement between the cam receiving protrusion 17 and the portion 23 of the cam groove. Another restricting protrusion 25 extending in a vertical direction may be provided in the side wall 1 of the male connector housing 11.

The connector is configured so that a connection resistance between the housings (10, 20) and an operation resistance on the lever (40) reach their maximums at substantially the same time. Thus, a separate resistance generator is unnecessary, and an operator is less likely to erroneously stop the connecting operation upon an increase in the operation resistance caused by a separate resistance generator. Accordingly, the two housings (10, 20) can be connected properly with high reliability.

A male housing 10 is formed by fitting an inner housing 30, in which a retainer 40 is attached, into a hood 12 of an outer housing 11. A protruding member 60 protrudes outwards from a right side of the hood 12, and a guiding groove 61 is formed in a concave manner from an anterior end of an inner face of the protruding member 60. A guiding member 62, which forms an inwardly inclining face, joins with the posterior of the guiding groove 61. If the retainer 40 protrudes from a side face of the inner housing 30 when this inner housing 30 is being fitted, the guiding member 62 engages with the retainer 40 while the inner housing 30 is being pushed inwards, and automatically pushes the retainer 40 inwards.

    摘要: A connector in which the pivoting of a lever to a correct position can be used to detect whether male and female housings are in a fully fitted state. When a lever 30 is pivoted to a correct position, a stopping protrusion 40 fits with a lever stopping member 14 of a female housing 10, thereby causing the female housing 10 and a male housing 20 to fit completely together. When the lever 30 reaches the final position, releasing members 42 of the lever 30 push down arms 59 of a detecting member 50 attached in a groove 13 of the female housing 10, thereby releasing stopping members 60 of the arms 59 from an engaged state against regulating members 18 which protrude from side faces of the groove 13. As a result, the detecting member 50 can be pushed in an anterior direction. This movement of the detecting member 50 allows one to detect that the two housings 10 and 20 have been correctly fitted together. Furthermore, if the detecting member 50 cannot be moved, it can be detected that the two housings 10 and 20 are in a half-fitted state.
