    摘要: The disclosure concerns an anti-friction bearing between a rotating shaft and an external bushing. The bearing includes two axially spaced apart rows of bearing balls. A feed bushing is disposed in the space between the shaft and the external bushing and between the two rows of bearings. The feed bushing is open at the axial ends for dispensing lubricant to the rows of bearings at the axial ends of the feed bushing. The feed bushing holds lubricant, such as grease, in itself for being dispensed at the axial ends of the feed bushing. A porous elastic material may be disposed in the feed bushing for being impregnated with the lubricant. The feed bushing, and also the porous material if used, are elastic and resilient to permit deflection of the shaft with respect to the external bushing. Various shape and configuration feed bushings are disclosed. A lubricant recharging hole passes through the external bushing and communicates to the feed bushing.

    摘要: A linear motor for optical systems, for example, endoscopes, is described. The motor has a stator with a magnetic guiding member and two adjacently disposed coils which are energized in opposite directions. Furthermore permanent magnets polarized in opposite directions and in the axial direction are provided on both sides of the pair of coils. The armature of the motor comprises a permanent magnet which is polarized in the opposite direction to the permanent magnet of the stator and is connected to a pole piece at each end. The pole pieces are arranged so that in the rest position each pole piece lies at the centre of one of the coils. By applying current to the coil, the armature can be displaced from a rest position in the longitudinal direction.

    摘要: A thermal protection system suitable as a heat shield for a space vehicle includes a flexible insulation mat that is adhesively bonded onto the outer skin of the space vehicle, a cover layer made of at least one ply of a ceramic fiber composite material secured onto the insulation mat, and a coating of an inorganic material applied onto an outer surface of the ceramic cover layer. The cover layer is secured to the insulation mat by adhesive bonding, stitching with ceramic threads or the like, or by a snap fastener button connection. The ceramic fiber composite materials of the cover layer include inorganic fibers which are preferably oxides, carbides or mixtures thereof embedded in a matrix of the same compositional components, whereby the components can be selected appropriately depending on the requirements of the particular application. The overall thermal protection system remains flexible, lightweight, and highly effective for thermal shielding, so that it may be used not only on the relatively cooler portions of the space vehicle, but also on the most highly thermally loaded areas such as the nose and the leading edges of wings and the like.

    摘要: A textile machine has a support carrying a number of yarn dispensing spindles. The machine includes an automatic winding device movable selectively to each of the spindles for rewinding yarn on each spindle. The winding device includes a yarn supply and elements which guide the yarn to the spindle to be rewound. In one embodiment, the winding device includes an articulated arm which removes the spindle from the support, brings it to the winding device for yarn to be rewound upon the spindle and returns the spindle to the support. In a second embodiment, an empty spindle is removed from the support by one arm and a second arm delivers a full spindle to the support. In a third embodiment, the automatic winding device moves to a spindle. Then a motor associated with the respective spindle operates at a different rewind speed and yarn is supplied to the spindle spinning at rewind speed to wind the yarn upon the spindle. Upon completion of rewinding, the spindle motor operates the spindle again at the yarn dispensing speed.

    摘要: The jacket enclosing a motor driven textile spindle of the type wherein the spindle is driven by a separate motor which is mounted on a common base with the spindle is modified to include air inlet and air exit openings. The motor is located in proximity to the spindle and is coupled to it by a toothed belt or the like. As the spindle is rotated by the motor air is drawn in through the inlet opening of the spindle and exits through the exit openings in the form of a strong stream of air which blows on and cools the motor. In this manner the spindle doubles as a fan for the motor and the necessity of providing a separate fan for the motor is avoided, resulting in savings in space and energy for driving a fan.
