    Abstract: A device (1) for producing an aerosol-generating rod (3) comprises a converging device (5), a susceptor guide (19), and a conveyor system. The converging device has a forming space converging along an axial direction (17). The susceptor guide extends into the forming space of the converging device and comprises an exit opening (21) for a susceptor (23) within the forming space (9) of the converging device. The conveyor system is configured to convey filling material (15), preferably formed as a sheet, through the forming space of the converging device to shape the filling material into a rod incorporating the susceptor. The device further comprises at least one additive supply line (29) having a dispensing opening that opens into the forming space of the converging device radially outward of the susceptor guide.

    Abstract: The forming apparatus comprises a feed path for continuously feeding a continuous tow material along a transport direction, a forming device connected to a downstream end of the feed path and adapted to form the continuous tow material into a continuous tubular rod. The forming device comprises a tubular element adapted to allow the continuous tow material to pass through the tubular element to form the continuous tubular rod and a steam generator adapted to generate overheated steam. The steam generator is in fluid connection with the tubular element to provide overheated steam to the continuous tow material. The forming device further comprises several fluid conduits to provide overheated steam from the steam generator to several injection sites arranged along a length of the tubular element, wherein at least one fluid conduit of the several fluid conduits comprises a temperature control unit including a temperature sensor and a temperature influencer.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a susceptor for an inductively heatable aerosol-generating article, wherein the method comprises the steps of providing a band of susceptor material and providing a compression stage. The compression stage comprises oppositely arranged compression elements, wherein in a first portion of the compression stage, the compression elements are arranged to define a progressively narrowing compression gap and wherein in a second portion of the compression stage the compression elements are arranged to define a constant compression gap there between and wherein the oppositely arranged compression elements are configured to have matching surface structures. The forming device comprises a fluid compressor for generating pressurized fluid, the fluid compressor being in fluid connection with the tubular element to provide pressurized fluid to the continuous tubular rod to heat or cool the continuous tubular rod.
