    Abstract: An object detection device according to the present disclosure, installed in a vehicle, includes a plurality of ranging sensors and each including a transmitter configured to transmit ultrasonic waves and a receiver configured to receive reflected waves of the ultrasonic waves transmitted by the transmitter and reflected by an object around the vehicle, and processing circuitry configured to detect the object around the vehicle based on the reflected waves received by the receiver during a wave receiving period until a predetermined period of time elapses from transmission of the ultrasonic waves by the transmitter. The processing circuitry is configured to acquire an imaged image imaged by an in-vehicle camera that images surroundings of the vehicle. The processing circuitry is configured to determine whether a specific object is contained based on the imaged image. The processing circuitry is configured to set the wave receiving period from a first wave receiving period to a second wave receiving period longer than the first wave receiving period when the specific object is determined to be contained in the imaged image.

    Abstract: A vehicle including a vehicle control device is disclosed. The vehicle control device determines whether an object is a preceding vehicle and whether a brake light of the preceding vehicle is on or off. When the object is a preceding vehicle and its brake light is on, the vehicle control device transmits a braking request that instructs a braking control device to stop the vehicle at a position at which an inter-vehicle distance between the preceding vehicle and the vehicle is equal to or larger than a first distance. When the object is a preceding vehicle and its brake light is off, the vehicle control device transmits a braking request that instructs the braking control device to stop the vehicle at a position at which the inter-vehicle distance is equal to or larger than a second distance being smaller than the first distance.

    Abstract: An object detection system includes distance measurement sensors and a hardware processor functioning as a wave transmission control circuit and a determination circuit. The distance measurement sensors provided at different positions in a vehicle. The wave transmission control circuit sets one of the distance measurement sensors as a top of a wave transmission order. A detection range of the one of the distance measurement sensors covers a region where an object is located. The object has been detected through preliminary detection when power supply to the vehicle is started. The wave transmission control circuit then repeats a cyclic wave transmission control on the distance measurement sensors to emit ultrasonic waves sequentially in the wave transmission order. The determination circuit determines an object as a detection target object when any one of the distance measurement sensors has detected the object a predetermined number of times.

    Abstract: An electrode is provided with a conductive intermediate layer that is arranged between a core material and a mixture layer. The mixture layer contains an active material and a first binder; and the intermediate layer contains a conductive material and a second binder. The conductive material has a particle size distribution which has a first peak that is within the particle diameter range from 0.005 μm to 0.07 μm and a second peak that is within the particle diameter range from 0.5 μm to 10 μm. The content of the particles that constitute the first peak is 1% by mass to 40% by mass of the mass of the conductive material. The second binder is mainly composed of a thermoplastic resin that has a melting point of 100° C. to 200° C., and has a composition that is different from the composition of the first binder.

    Abstract: An electrode according to one embodiment of the present disclosure comprises: a core material; and an electrode combined material that is layered onto surfaces of the core material. The electrode combined material comprises an active substance and PTFE. In an image illustrating a composition distribution obtained upon measuring a surface of the electrode combined material using energy dispersion-type X-ray analysis, the standard deviation of the area ratio of PTFE in 30 adjacent sections having a size of 150 μm×133 μm is 6% or less. When the electrode combined material is divided into three equal parts in the thickness direction to create, from the core material side, a first region, a second region, and a third region, the content (a) of PTFE in the first region, the content (b) of PTFE in the second region, and the content (c) of PTFE in the third region satisfy (c−a)/(a+b+c)≤±10%.

    Abstract: An object detection apparatus includes distance measuring devices and a hardware processor. The distance measuring devices are provided in a vehicle and emit ultrasonic waves. The distance measuring devices detect an object around the vehicle and obtain distance information indicating a distance to the detected object. The hardware processor determines a scene in which the vehicle is placed. The determination is performed on the basis of the distance information, vehicle speed information, an image of surroundings of the vehicle, and/or a location of the vehicle on a map. The hardware processor performs, on the basis of a scene determination result, setting of a high-sensitivity area where sensitivity for detecting the reflected waves is temporarily increased, a change of an emission interval of the ultrasonic waves, and/or a change of an emission sequence of the ultrasonic waves.
