    Abstract: An engine starting device includes a high-voltage power storage unit, a DC/DC converter electrically connected to the high-voltage power storage unit, a first switch electrically connected to the DC/DC converter, a second switch electrically connected to the first switch at a node, a low-voltage power storage unit electrically connected to the second switch, a starter configured to start up the engine, and a controller. The controller is configured to, for starting up the starter, control the DC/DC converter to allow the DC/DC converter to output electric power of the high-voltage power storage unit to the starter and to start rotating the starter at a certain time point by turning on the first switch while turning off the second switch. The controller is configured to, when a predetermined duration elapses from the certain time point or a rotation speed of the starter reaches a predetermined rotation speed, control the second switch to supply electric power of the low-voltage power storage unit to the starter together with the electric power of the high-voltage power storage unit by turning on the second switch. The controller is configured to turn off the first switch and the second switch when the engine completely starts up. Even if a small-sized DC/DC converter is employed, the engine starting device can start up the engine by driving the starter.

    Abstract: The present disclosure reduces parasitic inductances of current paths between components. First conductor path is provided on a surface of insulating layer. One of a power supply voltage and a ground voltage is applied to first conductor path. Second conductor path is provided on the surface of insulating layer. The other of the power supply voltage and the ground voltage is applied to second conductor path. First switching element is connected to output pattern and to first conductor path. Second switching element is connected to output pattern and to second conductor path. At least one of first conductor path and second conductor path has a continuous annular path.

    Abstract: A vehicle driving device includes an inverter which drives a motor. The inverter includes: a three-phase bridge circuit including a plurality of switching elements; a three-phase short circuit which short-circuits three phases of the motor via the three-phase bridge circuit; and a control circuit. The control circuit includes: a microprocessor which drives the three-phase bridge circuit; a malfunction notification circuit which outputs a malfunction notification signal when the microprocessor is malfunctioning; and a latch circuit which holds the malfunction notification signal outputted from the malfunction notification circuit. The control circuit outputs a three-phase short-circuit drive signal which drives the three-phase short circuit, based on the malfunction notification signal held by the latch circuit.

    Abstract: A vehicle driving apparatus includes an inverter which drives a permanent magnet motor. The inverter includes a three-phase bridge circuit including a plurality of switch elements, a drive circuit connected to the three-phase bridge circuit, a control circuit connected to the drive circuit, and an abnormality detecting unit which detects abnormality of the inverter. The drive circuit includes a three-phase-short-circuit-forming circuit which causes three phases of the permanent magnet motor to form short circuits, an abnormality accepting terminal which accepts an abnormality signal output from the abnormality detecting unit, and a check terminal which accepts an active check signal for causing the three-phase-short-circuit-forming circuit to perform three-phase short circuit control.
