Abstract: A starter system including a motor, a solenoid assembly having a solenoid switch, a pinion rotated by the motor and moveable into an engaging position in which an engine may be cranked and the solenoid switch is closed to energize the motor from an electric power source, and relay switch regulated by a controller and closed to apply electrical power to the solenoid assembly for actuating the solenoid switch. The controller repeatedly opens and closes relay switch during a starting operation if sensed motor energization voltage monitored by the controller falls below a predetermined threshold level within a predetermined time period after electrical power is applied to the solenoid assembly, whereby electrical power applications to the solenoid assembly are automatically repeated during a starting operation to correct “click-no-crank” events and prevent prolonged power application to the solenoid assembly. A related method is also disclosed.

Abstract: In an engine control device, an automatic engine stop control section automatically stops an engine operating when an automatic engine stop condition is satisfied. An engine start control section supplies electric power to a starter to drive the starter when receiving an initial engine start intention signal transmitted from a push starter and when an automatic engine start condition has been satisfied. An engine start completion detection section detects whether the engine start of the engine has finished. An automatic engine stop permission section permits the automatic engine stop control section to stop the engine operating when the automatic engine stop permission section detects that the engine start has finished at a timing when the engine start control section has started the engine after receiving an initial engine start intention detection signal transmitted from the push starter.

Abstract: A method for guaranteeing starting performance of an engine for maintaining driving performance is provided. The method includes executing a quasi-failure mode in which the engine is changed to a driving state when an engine cranking apparatus state is maintained equal to or less than a threshold for a predetermined period of time. As a result, the engine is driven in the quasi-failure mode while the hybrid vehicle is driven in the EV mode to prevent the vehicle system from being aggravated and fundamentally preventing the degradation in the stability of the vehicle causing driver discomfort.

Abstract: A control apparatus includes a first determination section determining whether a power-supply voltage has decreased below a first threshold value, an interruption section interrupting a current flow to an inverter if the voltage has decreased below the first threshold value, a second determination section that determining whether the power-supply voltage has increased above a second threshold value, an interruption releasing section releasing the interruption based on the fact that the voltage has increased above the second threshold value, a count section counting the number of interruptions, a limiting section determining whether the decrease in the power-supply voltage is caused by a first factor of an electric rotating machine or a second factor, and limits the counting if the decrease in the power-supply voltage is caused by the second factor, and a third determination section determining whether the interruption is allowed to be released based on the number of interruptions.

Abstract: A method for controlling vehicle operation of a vehicle having a standard transmission, a clutch, a service brake activated by a brake pedal, and an engine controller configured to shut off the engine after a stationary state of the vehicle has been reached. The method including shutting off the engine in a stopping step if an idling position of the manually shifted transmission has been engaged and if the clutch has been engaged and restarting engine in a chronologically subsequent starting step upon activation of a pedal, including a clutch pedal. The service brake configured to apply a brake pressure directly after release of the brake pedal for predetermined time period or interval between the stopping step and the starting step.

Abstract: The invention relates to an idling stop control device of a vehicle. The control device starts an execution of a decompression control at an engine-speed-decreasing-period timing within an engine-speed-decreasing period when an inclination gradient is a downward slope gradient smaller than a predetermined gradient. The period corresponds to a period between a timing when the engine speed reaches a peak engine speed after the engine speed exceeds a complete explosion engine speed after the execution of the engine restart process is started and a timing when the engine speed decreases to a stable idling engine speed. On the other hand, the control device starts the execution of the decompression control at a complete-explosion-achievement timing when the inclination gradient is a downward slope gradient equal to or larger than the predetermined gradient.
