摘要： A by-pass tool is provided which has a large bore throughflow passage when in an inactive drilling mode, and which is capable of being activated upon launching of an activation dart from the surface, to an active mode in which drillstring fluids can be diverted to a by-pass port. The by-pass tool includes a casing, a by-pass port for diverting drillstring fluids when the tool is in the active mode, and an axially slidable member placed within the casing to slide between blocking and release positions with respect to the by-pass port. The slidable member may be moved to the release position by the dart to bring ports in the slidable member into registry with the by-pass port. This slidable member may also return to its blocking position and thereby cause the tool to revert to its inactive mode upon wireline retrieval of the dart.

摘要： A personal computer includes a PBX control program and one or more switch cards located in expansion board slots. The one or more switch cards are coupled to one or more port expansion units (PEU), which are coupled to telecommunication lines out to the various extension phones at the customer premises. Each PEU contains its own digital signal processor (DSP) so that distributed digital signal processing may be implemented to avoid any bottlenecks. One master PEU is coupled to a switch card by a time division multiplexed (TDMA) bus as well as a packet switched control bus, and all the other PEUs, if any, are coupled to the master PEU by extensions of the TDMA and packet switched buses. The TDMA bus carries PBX real time conversations while the packet switched bus carries control information, voicemail outbound message data packets, and inbound voicemail data packets.

摘要： A system and method in a packet-switched radio access network of sending data packets over a radio interface from a Mobile Station (MS) to a Radio Network Controller (RNC) using multiple data transmission paths. When the MS launches a new application through a first base station (BS1), a Multi-path Context Activator (MCA) in the RNC determines whether the bandwidth required by the new application exceeds the bandwidth capacity of the radio interface portion of the first data transmission path. If so, the RNC identifies a second BS (BS2) that has the capacity to provide a portion of the radio interface bandwidth required. The MS then transmits separate data streams to BS1 and BS2 as over the radio interface. The MCA combines the separate upstream data portions. For downstream packets, the MCA separates the packets into two streams which are sent to an MCA in the MS via BS1 and BS2.

The scanner board further includes an opening on the scanner frame. The opening exposes the glass plate thereunder and the opening is substantially above the start point of the carriage. Therefore, the auto power on scanning apparatus has the advantage of preventing dust from dropping into the interior of the main body. Also, extra care and cost paid to the fragile projected pattern can be eliminated.

摘要： A carrier for supporting vertical blinds used in covering window and door openings. The carrier has a clip with an inner space for permitting a vane to translate relative to the clip as the vane rotates to close the opening. The clip inner space can be U-shaped to provide a self-centering function for the vane. A horizontal wing is attached to the clip to provide a rotating force against the end vane. By providing this force, gaps between the vertical vanes are eliminated so that the opening is completely sealed. The end vane can overlap the blind control wand to eliminate gaps between the wand and end vane. A cord lock can automatically prevent loosening of the end vane relative to the adjacent vane.

A rotatable mechanism is proximate with a vertically moveable handle. An extension is attached to the rotatable mechanism, and a cord lock is engaged with the upper end of the extension so that rotation of the rotatable mechanism and extension operates the cord lock to selectively engage the cord. Following such engagement, the handle can be pulled to move the cord and to transport the vanes. The rotatable mechanism can be rotated in the opposite direction to disengage the cord lock from the cord.
