摘要: The current invention provides an apparatus and method of collecting waste materials produced during laser etching of a floptical medium without blocking access to the medium surface. The invention also improves collection efficiency by applying a uniform low-pressure air around the outer edge of the medium. Because the air pressure is applied around the edge, there is no necessity to coordinate a movement or timing of the current invention with respect to the laser etching unit.

摘要: A method and system for executing a plurality of threads are described. The method may include mapping a thread specified priority value associated with a dormant thread to a thread quantized priority value associated with the dormant thread if the dormant thread becomes ready to run. The method may further include adding the dormant thread to a ready to run queue and updating the thread quantized priority value. A thread quantum value associated with the dormant thread may also be updated, or a combination of the quantum value and quantized priority value may be both updated.

摘要: Methods, systems and devices configured to add synchronization to the entry and exit from low power modes in asynchronous operating systems on a multiprocessor system. A synchronizing agent tracks the requested sleep and wake up times of the different asynchronous operating systems executing on different cores of the same system on chip or multicore processor. The sleep/wake up times of some cores/operating systems may be delayed in order to synchronize the sleep/wake up times of two or more of the asynchronous operating systems executing on the multiprocessor system.

摘要: Systems and methods are provided for remotely a monitoring an individual's ability to carry out a various exercise activities and to evaluate the individual's range of motion. The individual can stand or sit in the field of view of the camera and carry out a set of base line activities. The baseline activities can be stored for subsequent retrieval and analysis. Based on the results of that evaluation, other activities can be prescribed for the individual to systematically carry out. The results of the subsequent activities can be evaluated and compared to the result of the base line activities to determine how the activities should be revised or whether other treatments are required or appropriate.

摘要: Motion compensated load-lifting apparatus for use on marine vessels. Apparatus includes a traveling weight used to maintain tension in the load-lifting member, and a locking mechanism to prevent movement of the traveling weight in one direction. The locking mechanism, such as a ratchet and pawl, can be employed to lift the load from the vessel at optimum periods of wave movement. Load direction sensing devices prevent attempted lift of the load as the vessel falls.
