摘要: The present invention generally relates to an apparatus and a method for conveying and operating tools into a wellbore. In one aspect, a method of performing a downhole operation in a wellbore is provided. The method includes pushing a continuous rod into the wellbore, wherein the continuous rod includes a member disposed therein. The method further includes positioning the continuous rod proximate at a predetermined location in the wellbore and performing the downhole operation. In yet another aspect, a system for performing a downhole operation in a wellbore is provided.

摘要: Embodiments of the present invention include methods and apparatus for dynamically controlling pressure within a wellbore while forming the wellbore. In one aspect, one or more pressure control apparatus are used to maintain desired pressure within the wellbore while drilling the wellbore. In another aspect, pressure is dynamically controlled while drilling using foam to maintain a substantially homogenous foam flow regime within the wellbore annulus for carrying cuttings from the wellbore.

摘要: The present invention relates methods and apparatus for lining a wellbore. In one aspect, a drilling assembly having an earth removal member and a wellbore lining conduit is manipulated to advance into the earth. The drilling assembly includes a first fluid flow path and a second fluid flow path. Fluid is flowed through the first fluid flow path, and at least a portion of which may return through the second fluid flow path. In one embodiment, the drilling assembly is provided with a third fluid flow path. After drilling has been completed, wellbore lining conduit may be cemented in the wellbore.

摘要: A method and system of forming a lateral wellbore in a time and trip saving manner using a mill/drill to locate and place a casing window. In one aspect of the invention, a lateral wellbore is drilled with liner which is subsequently left in the lateral wellbore to line the sides thereof. In another aspect, the mill/drill is rotated with a rotary steerable system and in another aspect, the mill/drill is rotated with a downhole motor or a drill stem.

摘要: A tool for wellbore sidetracking operations has been invented, the tool, in one aspect, having a body, a milling section on the body for milling an opening in a tubular in a first wellbore in a formation, the milling section having milling material thereon, and a drilling section on the body for drilling a second wellbore beyond the window into the formation. A method has been invented for forming an opening in a tubular in a first wellbore in a formation and for drilling a second wellbore from the opening in a single trip procedure, the method positioning a mill drill tool in the tubular at a location at which an opening is desired in the tubular and from which a second wellbore is desired to be drilled, the mill drill tool having drilling apparatus for drilling the second wellbore and milling apparatus for milling an opening through the tubular, milling the opening in the tubular with the milling apparatus thereby exposing the formation for drilling, and drilling with the drilling apparatus a second wellbore beyond the opening in the tubular into the formation.

摘要: The present invention provides an apparatus and methods to reduce ECD and pressure associated therewith while drilling with casing. In one aspect, the invention provides an energy transfer assembly locatable at a predetermined location in a casing string. The assembly includes an impeller portion in the interior of the casing to be acted upon by the downward moving fluid in the casing and a pump portion disposed outwardly of the impeller portion and arranged in fluid communication with the upward moving fluid in the annulus between the casing and the borehole, adding energy thereto and reducing pressure in the annulus therebelow. In another aspect, the energy transfer assembly is retrievable to the surface of the wellbore prior to cementing. In a further aspect, fluid ports between the interior and exterior of the casing are remotely sealable prior to cementing.

摘要: A stroke indicator has been invented for indicating that a movable inner member of an hydraulically activated wellbore tool or apparatus has moved, particularly that movement of such a member indicating that a stroke of the tool or apparatus has occurred. In one aspect such an indicator is used to indicate that the stroke of a wellbore tubular patch expander system has been completed. A tubular patch has been invented which includes two or more connected tubular patch members. A tubular patch system has been invented for patching operations which, in one aspect, is useful as a "through tubing" tubular patch system and has a body and a series of selectively expandable members which, once having passed through a tubular of a first diameter, are expandable in a tubular of a second diameter larger than the first diameter and then operable to expand a liner patch to seal a leak in the tubular of the second diameter. Such a system may be used in a tubular disposed within a wellbore or in a tubular on the earth surface.
