Abstract: A system for an aquatic application is provided in the form of a pump, a filtration system, a container, and a controller. The container is arranged to be in fluid communication with the filtration system and retains a chemical cleaning agent. The valve is positioned to be in fluid communication with the container and the filtration system. The controller is in communication with the valve. The controller is designed to determine a first permeability value associated with the filtration system at a first time period and initiates a cleaning procedure by providing the chemical cleaning agent to the filtration system when the first permeability value is below a permeability threshold value.

Abstract: A hybrid filter assembly for an aquatic application is provided in the form of a vessel, a first filtration stage, a second filtration stage, a bypass assembly, and a controller. The vessel includes a first port which receives fluid from the aquatic application. The first filtration stage and the second filtration stage are retained in the vessel. The first filtration stage is designed to filter particles imparted with a first size, while the second filtration stage is designed to filter particles imparted with a second size. The bypass assembly is in fluid communication with a second port the vessel. The controller is in communication with the bypass assembly, and the controller actuates the bypass assembly to alter an operational state of the hybrid filter assembly.

Abstract: A device and method of predicting the failure of a heat exchanger of a heating device for a pool or spa are provided. The method comprises providing a measurement device to determine a baseline concentration of a metal within the water of the pool or the spa at a first time. The method further comprises measuring a concentration of the metal via the measurement device at a second time to define a measured concentration and determine if the measured concentration is greater than the baseline concentration. The method also comprises providing an alert when the measured concentration exceeds the baseline concentration by more than a predetermined amount. The metal detected by the measurement device may be at least one of copper, stainless steel, or titanium.

Abstract: A method of operating a filtration system including a hybrid filter assembly is provided. The method includes the steps of providing a pump that is in fluid communication with a pool or a spa, providing a hybrid filter assembly including a filtration module, providing a chemical cleaning system including a container configured to retain a chemical cleaning agent in which the container is in fluid communication with the hybrid filter assembly, and providing a controller in communication with the hybrid filter assembly and the chemical cleaning system. The method also includes the steps of determining via the controller an operational efficiency of the filtration module at a predetermined interval of time and initiating via the controller a chemical cleaning mode to clean the hybrid filter assembly.

Abstract: A heater for a pool or a spa is provided. The heater is provided in the form of a housing with an outlet disposed in the housing. The outlet is in fluid communication with the pool or spa. The heater also includes a first dosing mechanism that is designed to meter an amount of a waste condensate generated by the heater to the pool or spa. The waste condensate, by virtue of being imparted with an acidic pH, alters the pH value of water in the pool or spa. The heater is also in electrical communication with a controller. The controller is designed to control the first dosing mechanism such that the first dosing mechanism can provide at least a portion of the waste condensate to the pool or spa.

Abstract: A water heater includes a first heater, a second heater, and a controller. The controller can enable different operational modes of the water heater, wherein only the first heater operates, only the second heater operates, or both the first and the second heaters operate. The controller can also be configured to enable a hybrid operational mode and a bypass operational mode. Further, in the different operational modes, the controller can direct water flow to at least one of a first conduit coupled to the first heater, a second conduit coupled to the second heater, and a bypass conduit. The controller can be configured to receive input signals relating to environmental conditions around the water heater and/or an aquatic system in which the water heater is installed.
