Abstract:
A process for reducing content of sulphur compounds and polyaromatic hydrocarbons in a hydrocarbon feed having a boiling range between 200° C. and 600° C. is disclosed. The process comprises in combination contacting the feed and hydrogen over a hydrotreating catalyst and hydrotreating feed at hydrotreating conditions, cooling the hydrotreated effluent and hydrogen-rich gas from the hydrotreating reactor and contacting the effluent and hydrogen gas over a hydrotreating catalyst in a post-pretreatment reactor at a temperature sufficient to lower the polyaromatic hydrocarbon content.

Process for the catalytic hydrotreating of a hydrocarbon feed stock containing silicon compounds by contacting the feed stock in presence of hydrogen with a hydrotreating catalyst at conditions to be effective in the hydrotreating of the feed stock, the improvement of which comprises the step of moisturising the hydrotreating catalyst with an amount of water added to the feed stock between 0.01 and 10 vol %.

Described herein is a combined process for improved hydrotreating of diesel fuels, in which the feed to be hydrotreated is pretreated with a selective adsorbent prior to the hydrotreating step to remove polar materials, especially nitrogen containing compounds (N-compounds). The selective adsorption process can employ either liquid or solid adsorbents. After contact of the adsorbent with the diesel fuel feed, the adsorbent containing undesired polar compounds is separated from the diesel fuel. The separated adsorbent is then subjected to a two step procedure for regeneration.

A catalyst for ring opening of cyclic organic compounds comprising, on a carrier of alumina, silica, zirconia and mixtures thereof, from 0.1 to 10% by weight based on the total weight of the catalyst of a catalytic active metal selected from platinum, palladium, rhodium, rhenium, iridium, ruthenium, nickel, cobalt and mixtures or combinations thereof and from 0.01 to 20% by weight based on the total weight of the catalyst of a metal modifier selected from tungsten, molybdenum lanthanum and rare earth metals and mixtures and combinations thereof.
