摘要: A method for using speech analysis to detect speech pathologies can begin with registration of a patient with a speech-based health monitor. A speech segment baseline representing an initial state of the patient's speech system can be established for the patient. When prompted, the patient can submit a speech segment representing a current state of the patient's speech system to the speech-based health monitor. The speech-based health monitor can analyze the submitted speech segment using the established speech segment baseline and/or a speech segment history that comprises speech segments previously submitted by the patient. Based upon said analysis, satisfaction of a health alert definition can be determined. A health alert definition can define an action performed by the speech-based health monitor when its associated triggering conditions are satisfied. The action associated with the at least one satisfied health alert definition can then be executed.

摘要: An ownership interest in copies of physical artifacts is acquired from a set of owners. Each physical artifact contains a copyrighted work. The acquired ownership interest in the copyrighted work is transferred from at least a subset of the physical artifacts into a corresponding subset of digital content media items. The acquired ownership interest in the copyrighted works is leveraged to permit a set of consumers to access and utilize the subset of digital content media items. One or more computing devices execute a set of one or more functions to ensure a quantity of the consumers permitted to concurrently access digitized content of the digital content media items never exceeds a quantity of the acquired ownership interests acquired from the physical artifacts.

摘要: A live video conference session can be established between a first device and second remotely located devices each having a first and second camera as an input peripheral. The first and second camera can capture a first and second video stream of a first and second session participant. During the live video conference session, the first and second video stream can be continuously conveyed in real time over a network to displays of each device. The first video stream can be analyzed to programmatically determine that a position of the first participant is non-optimal as seen by the second participant. An eye guide can be presented on a user interface to assist the first participant to focus their eyes in a new location indicated by the eye. If subsequent detects improved eye focus with the second participant the eye guide can be dismissed.

摘要: In one embodiment, an account is established for non-negotiable credits provided by an entity to one or more users. Interactions that earn a quantity of non-negotiable credits are detected. The quantity of non-negotiable credits from the interactions is added to the account. The non-negotiable credits have redemption restrictions imposed by the entity. In absence of a conversion operation that converts the non-negotiable credits to entity independent funds, a commerce partner does not accept the non-negotiable credits for goods/services that it provides. A quantity of the non-negotiable credits is subtracted from the account. The subtracted quantity of non-negotiable credits corresponds to a quantity of entity independent funds resulting from the conversion operation that converts the non-negotiable credits to a quantity of the entity independent funds in accordance with agreement terms mutually established by the commerce partner and the entity. The commerce partner is compensated by the entity.

摘要: An illuminated electrophoretic device comprising of an electrophoretic display having a set of microcapsules suspended within a insulating liquid. The insulating liquid can be sandwiched between a first surface and a second surface, where each microcapsule encapsulates a set of charged particles. The first surface can be transparent, permitting light to be transmitted. A light source can be configured to transmit visible light through the first surface and/or the second surface. The transmitted light can illuminate the microcapsules and/or the insulating liquid.

摘要: An implanted medical device can be detected within an effective proximity of an electronic device by an IMD safety control module coupled with the electronic device, in response to the performance of a function by the electronic device. Performance of the function by the electronic device can be known to have the potential to cause adverse effects to operation of and/or a treatment provided by the implanted medical device within the effective proximity. The implanted medical device can be an active implanted medical device having wireless communication capabilities. Performance of the function by the electronic device can be disabled. Resolution from an operator of the electronic device can be requested. Upon receipt of the resolution, performance of the function by the electronic device can be enabled.

摘要: An entity establishes a non-negotiable credit account for a member of the loyalty program. The member of the loyalty program is provided with a payment artifact. Non-negotiable credits are added to the account in response to the payment artifact being used for purchases of goods or services. Quantities of the non-negotiable credits are redeemable for member selected goods or services per terms-of-use of the loyalty program. A subset of the non-negotiable credits are convertible to entity independent funds of a different loyalty program of a commerce partner. The entity independent funds are redeemable for commerce partner goods or commerce partner services of the different loyalty program.
