The RF front-end circuit also has a tunable matching network control unit coupled to the tunable matching network. The control unit is configured to optimize an impedance match between the RF interface port and the output of the tunable matching network.

    摘要: The power amplifier mainly includes a main amplifier, two splitters, one combiner, one subtracter, two phase shifters, one attenuator and one error amplifier. The splitters, subtracter and combiner are designed in the form of 90-degree or quadrature hybrid couplers. A quadrature hybrid can be implemented with any lumped or transmission-line elements and has an important advantage compared to the in-phase splitter that at equal values of reflection coefficients from loads connected to the in phase and 90° phase shift terminals, the reflection wave is lacking at the main input terminal and, consequently, the input voltage standing wave ratio of a quadrature hybrid does not depend on the equal load mismatch level.

    摘要: An amplifier includes a signal input, a first, second and third amplification path. A coupling element having a first and a second output terminal is coupled to respective input terminals of the first and second amplification paths, and is coupled with a third terminal to an input terminal of the third amplification path. In a first mode of operation the coupling element provides a signal at the first and second output terminals, wherein the signal at the second output terminal comprising a phase shift with respect to the signal at the first output terminal. In a second mode of operation, the coupling element provides a signal at the third output terminal, wherein the provided signal is received at the input terminal and reflected on the first and second output terminals.

    摘要: Systems and methods for controlling output power from a power amplifier include a power amplifier configured to generate a power output signal. An output matching circuit is in communication with the power amplifier and is configured to provide an impedance match between the power amplifier and the load. The output matching circuit includes a coupler circuit configured to detect the level of the power output signal. The coupler circuit is further configured to generate a coupler circuit output signal that is proportional to the detected output power level. A feedback control loop circuit is in communication with the coupler circuit and the power amplifier. The feedback control loop circuit is configured to control the power output level based at least in part on the coupler circuit output signal.
