    摘要: One embodiment relates to a coupler that can be used in a radar system. The coupler includes differential ports, an antenna port, a receiver port, a local port and a transmission path. The differential ports are configured to receive a differential signal. The antenna port is configured to output a transmitted signal and to input a received signal. The transmitted signal is derived from the differential signal. The receiver port is configured to output a portion or version of the received signal. The local port outputs a local signal, which is also derived from the differential signal. The transmission path is coupled to the differential ports, the antenna port, the receiver port and the local port. The transmission path typically has a length selected to derive or output the signals at the above ports.

    摘要: In one embodiment, RF front-end circuit includes a tunable matching network having an input coupled to an RF interface port, a directional coupler with a first connection coupled to an RF input of a mixer, a second connection coupled to an RF signal generation port, and a third connection coupled to an output of the tunable matching network. The directional coupler is configured to direct a signal from the RF signal generation port to the tunable matching network and to direct a signal from the tunable matching network port to the RF port of the mixer. The RF front-end circuit also has a tunable matching network control unit coupled to the tunable matching network. The control unit is configured to optimize an impedance match between the RF interface port and the output of the tunable matching network.

    摘要: A field disturbance sensing system has an antenna, an oscillator producing a high-frequency signal, a first detector circuit, a second detector circuit, a combining network configured to couple the high-frequency signal to the antenna, and to couple the high-frequency signal and a reflected high-frequency signal to the first detector and to the second detector. An algebraic combining network sums a first detected signal having first detected high-frequency signal and a first detected reflected signal from the first detector circuit and a second detected signal having second detected high-frequency signal and a second detected reflected signal from the second detector circuit to produce a detected output signal. The first detected reflected signal is added to the second detected reflected signal and the first detected high-frequency signal is subtracted from the second detected high-frequency signal. A controller configured to convert the detected output signal to a speed between the antenna and a target.

    摘要: An electrically steerable phased array antenna system includes an array of antenna elements and a corporate feed network having an inner region for input of two input signals A and B. The corporate feed network has two outer regions and generating vector combinations of respective input signals and other input signal fractions. Each outer region has a splitting and combining network providing the vector combinations as signals to antenna elements connected predominantly peripherally to itself. Each splitting and combining network has input signal connections from the inner region disposed peripherally of the corporate feed network. Each consists of splitters and adding/subtracting elements implemented as hybrid couplers some of which have re-entrant or meandered track sections. Hybrid meandered track sections have multiple widths for signal weighting. The corporate feed network is configured to avoid track cross-overs.

Advantageously, the helices are wound in opposite directions of winding (17) and their points of excitation are offset with respect to each other, in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the helices. Corresponding methods of manufacture are used to form the helix antenna.
