Abstract: An adsorbent media composition, adsorbent apparatus, and gas purification process using the absorbent media composition are provided for the removal of dimethyl disulfide from a gas containing at least dimethyl disulfide as an impurity. The adsorbent media composition includes a combination of a support material and a removal material capable of removing dimethyl disulfide from the gas. In particular, the support material is used in combination with an iron material as a removal material, wherein the iron material provides for enhanced and efficient removal of dimethyl disulfide from a gas.
