Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for communicating data in a wireless communications network are described herein. One innovative aspect of the present disclosure includes a method of communicating in a wireless network. The method includes encrypting a message based, at least in part, on an original source address, and a final destination address. The method further includes transmitting the encrypted message to a relay for delivery to the final destination address.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatus for signaling enhanced distributed channel access (EDCA) parameter sets, with support for different device types. The apparatus typically includes a processing system configured to generate a frame with an indication of a type of device that is to use a particular enhanced distribution channel access (EDCA) parameter set and an interface for outputting a frame containing the TIM IE for transmission.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for communicating data in a wireless communications network are described herein. In some aspects, a station includes a first receiver and a low power circuit including a second receiver. The second receiver may be configured to consume less power than the first receiver. The second receiver receives short paging messages from another wireless device, such as an access point. The paging messages may trigger transitions of the first receiver from inactive doze or sleep states to active awake states based on Traffic Information Maps. Once in the awake state, the first receiver receives messages. This enables the first receiver to reduce the time spent awake, thereby reducing power consumption. A system and method for identifying and managing paging modes is described herein.
Abstract:
Methods and stations for wireless communication are described herein. In some aspects, the station may include a processing circuit configured to process a first signal transmitted to the station, the first signal indicating a target wake up time when an activation signal is expected to be received. The station may further include a wake-up circuit configured to transition a first receiver to an awake state based on the indicated target wake up time. The first receiver is configured to receive the activation signal at the indicated target wake up time. The station may further include a second receiver configured to transition to an awake state based on the first receiver receiving the activation signal and receive a second signal while in the awake state.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication. In one aspect an apparatus for wirelessly communicating with a wireless station is provided. The apparatus comprises a first transceiver configured to receive a backoff signal from the wireless station during a first time period, the backoff signal configured to indicate a second time period. The apparatus further comprises a processor operationally coupled to the first transceiver and configured to refrain the first transceiver from transmitting a wireless signal during the second time period.
Abstract:
In a power save scheme, signaling and information transfers are scheduled to increase the amount of time a device in a wireless system can operate in power save mode. Multiple periods of time are allocated for signaling and for information transfer during a beacon interval. Control signaling during a signaling block indicates whether a given device should be awake for an information transfer during a subsequent information transfer period during the beacon interval. Thus, based on the indication, the device determines whether to be awake or asleep during the information transfer period.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for establishing associations on a wireless network, where the associations require a device to be available to the requesting device for a portion of time within a maximum time away period, are disclosed. In one aspect, a method includes determining, by the apparatus, of a time period during which the access point can be accessible to the apparatus, the generating of a message identifying the time period, and the transmitting of the generated message to another apparatus.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatus, and computer readable medium manage the utilization of a wireless medium capable of transmitting multiple channels of data simultaneously. A plurality of messages are stored in a queue for transmission on the wireless medium. A wireless medium utilization for transmitting a first message over the multi-channel medium is determined. Each of the messages stored in the queue is delayed based at least in part on the determined wireless medium utilization. In some embodiments, a message may be delayed based at least in part on a state of a connection used by the message. For example, if the connection is in a ramp-up or slow start phase, the message may not be delayed. Messages may also be delayed based on a type of the message. For example, messages generated by interactive applications, such as web browsers or instant messaging applications may not be delayed.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for grouping nodes to reduce collisions are described herein. In one aspect, a method for reducing collisions in a wireless communication network is provided. The method includes receiving a packet from a first wireless device, the packer including an indication of a packet loss observed by the first wireless device. The method then determines that a collision occurred based on the indication of a packet loss. The method then assigns at least one wireless device to at least one group, based at least in part on the detected collision.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for wireless communications are disclosed. In one aspect, an apparatus for wireless communications includes a transceiver configured to wirelessly transmit and receive packets. The apparatus further includes a wake up circuit configured to wirelessly receive packets. The apparatus is further configured to detect reception of a wake up signal via the receiver and execute a command based on the wake up signal. In another aspect, an apparatus is disclosed, which generates and transmits wake up signals.
