Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify that it is a multi-subscriber identity module (SIM) device that supports communications with at least a first subscription corresponding to a first SIM and a second subscription corresponding to a second SIM, where the communications are transmitted or received via a single transceiver of the UE. Accordingly, the UE may simultaneously perform packet-based voice traffic using the first subscription and data communications using the second subscription, where the data communications occur during one or more durations of time in which the packet-based voice traffic is absent. For example, the UE may transmit or receive messages using the first subscription and then transmit or receive messages using the second subscription by tuning the single transceiver away from the communications for the first subscription when the packet-based voice traffic is absent.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for uplink transport protocol acknowledgment shaping and downlink data shaping at a user equipment. A method that may be performed by the UE generally includes determining an allowed number of transport protocol acknowledgments to transmit in a transmission time interval (TTI); and transmitting one or more transport protocol acknowledgments in the TTI based, at least in part, on the determined allowed number of transport protocol acknowledgments. Another method that may be performed by the UE generally includes determining an allowed number of downlink data units to transmit in a TTI; and transmitting one or more data units in the TTI based, at least in part, on the determined allowed number of data units.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for channel quality indicator (CQI)-based downlink buffer management as well as mitigating throughput loss in dual connectivity with multi-SIM. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes communicating with a first network on a first channel using a first technology, determining whether a tune-away associated with the first technology will occur, and outputting, for transmission to the first network on a second channel using a second technology, a channel quality indicator (CQI) report corresponding to the second channel if the tune-away will occur, wherein the CQI report indicates a lower CQI for the second channel than a current CQI for the second channel.
