Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may perform a calibration to improve the accuracy, reliability, or both of signal transmissions. The UE may determine timing for the calibration procedure based on a received identifier for the UE (e.g., a radio network temporary identifier (RNTI), such as a cell RNTI (C-RNTI)). For example, the UE may determine a calibration offset between a reference time and a calibration gap according to an equation using at least the identifier as input. During the calibration gap, the UE may transmit a calibration signal using one or more antenna ports and may calibrate (e.g., adjust power amplification for) the one or more antenna ports based on an estimated actual transmit power for the calibration signal (e.g., received by other antenna ports of the UE or received by another device).

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit, and a base station may receive, a report that includes information related to a power headroom available to the UE at a current power level and information related to a duty cycle that the UE can sustain over a moving integration window based at least in part on a maximum permissible exposure limit. In some aspects, the base station may transmit, and the UE may receive, scheduling information based at least in part on the information related to the power headroom available to the UE at the current power level and the information related to the duty cycle that the UE can sustain over the moving integration window. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A device may transmit first control signaling indicating a capability for switching between carriers of a group of carriers during uplink communications using carrier aggregation. The group of carriers include three or more carriers that are each associated with different radio frequency bands. The device may receive second control signaling that includes an indication for the device to switch to a subset of carriers of the group of carriers for transmission of an uplink message. The subset of carriers may be associated with a combination of radio frequency bands. The device may transmit the uplink message on at least one of the subset of carriers in accordance with a mapping between the combination of radio frequency bands and the at least one of the subset of carriers, where the mapping is based on the capability.

A user equipment (UE) may determine that uplink communications are to be performed between the UE and a first cell group associated with a first radio access technology (RAT) and between the UE and a second cell group associated with a second RAT. The UE may determine that the UE is configured for power sharing for the uplink communications with the first cell group associated with the first RAT and the second cell group associated with the second RAT. The UE may calculate, based on the power sharing and the uplink communications, a power reduction factor for the uplink communications between the UE and the second cell group. The UE may perform the uplink communications with the first cell group and selectively perform the uplink communications with the second cell group.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for managing unwanted transmissions by a wireless communications device, such as spurious transient transmissions caused by changing a power level of a transmitter. An exemplary method includes determining, based on one or more parameters, an action to reduce an impact of a spurious transmission by the UE, wherein the spurious transmission relates to at least one of changing a transmit power level at the UE or switching one or more radio components at the UE, and taking the determined action to reduce the impact.

Abstract: Low complexity, high order multiple input, multiple output (MIMO) operations are described in which a user equipment (UE), configured with at least one normal performance receiver chain and at least one low-performance, low-complexity diversity receiver chain, signals a capabilities indicator identifying existence of the low-performance diversity receivers. Using the UEs capabilities, a serving base station may schedule uplink and downlink transmissions for the UE to reduce uplink-downlink collisions below a minimum threshold number. The serving base station may also take UE transmit power into consideration for signaling power control or modulation and coding schemes in order to minimize potential interference cause by UE transmissions. For channel state feedback, the UE may provide different channel feedback for uplink-downlink collision subframes and non-collision subframes.
