    摘要: Pigment concentrates comprising a pigment, a liquid carrier medium and a diol alkoxylate of the general formulae (I), (II) and/or (III) are described in conjunction with methods of preparing the same. The diol alkoxylates described and used herein are of the general formulae (I), (II) and/or (III): wherein each of R1, R2, R3, R5, R7 and R8 independently represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having from 1 to about 36 carbon atoms, with the proviso that both R1 and R2 are not simultaneously hydrogen atoms and the total number of carbon atoms in R1 and R2 is from about 6 to about 38, and with the proviso that both R3 and R5 are not simultaneously hydrogen atoms and the total number of carbon atoms in R3 and R5 is from about 6 to about 38, wherein R4 represents a linear or branched alkylene group having from about 2 to about 12 carbon atoms or (—CH2—CHR6—O)z—, wherein R6 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, wherein each of x and y independently represent a number of from about 1 to about 200, z represents a number of from about 1 to about 20, n represents a number of from about 2 to about 12, and wherein the sum of x+y is a number of from about 5 to about 200.

    摘要: The invention is a method for improving the flow of particulate lacquer powders when the lacquer powders are coated on a substrate and the substrate heated to fuse the lacquer particles to provide a finished lacquer surface on the substrate. The flow control agent is an oxazine, oxazoline, oligoxazine or oligoxazoline and salts of the compounds with protonic acids. The flow control agents when included in power lacquer formulations improve the flow of the lacquer when the powder lacquer coated substrate is heated to fuse the coating.

    摘要: The invention provides microcapsules having an average diameter of 0.1 to 25 μm, obtained by a process (a) or (b), wherein, (a1) preparing an aqueous emulsion comprising actives and optionally oil components and/or emulsifiers; (a2) treating the emulsifier with an aqueous solution of anionic polymers to form a matrix; (a3) contacting the matrix with an aqueous solution of cationic polymers to form a capsule and optionally (a4) separating the aqueous phase from the capsules, or (b1) preparing an aqueous emulsion containing actives and optionally oil components and/or emulsifiers; (b2) treating the aqueous emulsion with an aqueous solution of cationic polymers to form a matrix; (b3) contacting the matrix with an aqueous solution of an anionic polymer to form a capsule and optionally (b4) separating the aqueous phase from the capsule. The microcapsules are useful in paint and lacquer formulations.
