    摘要: A system for providing remote access and control of electronic devices connected to a CEBus network includes a remotely located master node, e.g., a utility server controller, which is linked to the CEBus network via an ATM-based broadband access network ("BAN"). A proxy node is provided on the CEBus network, wherein the proxy node is also linked to the master node via the BAN. The proxy node includes a power monitoring module, which constantly monitors the power supply to the proxy node, e.g., of a residential home at which the proxy node is located. In the case of a power failure, the monitoring module detects the failure and notifies a power outage module. The power outage module generates a power failure alarm message, which is forwarded to the master node in the form of a CEBus link protocol data unit ("LPDU"). In particular, the proxy node packetizes the LPDU alarm message into ATM transmission format for transport to the master node over the BAN. Upon receipt of the LPDU alarm message, the master node notifies the appropriate utility company about the power failure, based on specific identifying information contained in the LPDU alarm message.

    摘要: A system for providing remote access and control of electronic devices connected to a CEBus network includes a remotely located master node, e.g., a utility server controller, which is linked to the CEBus network via an ATM-based broadband access network ("BAN"). A proxy node is provided on the CEBus network, wherein the proxy node is also linked to the master node via the BAN. The remotely located master node may thereby communicate with one or more devices located on the CEBus network by transmitting messages to the proxy node over the BAN. The proxy node converts the messages from an ATM protocol compatible with transmission over the BAN to a respective CEBus network protocol, and then forwards the messages to recipient device(s) over the CEBus network. In the opposite direction, a device on a CEBus network may communicate with the remotely located master node by transmitting CEBus-standard messages to the respective proxy node over the CEBus network. The proxy node packetizes the messages into an ATM transmission format and forwards the messages to the master node over the BAN. The system may be advantageously employed as an energy management system for providing remote control by a utility host master node of a plurality of utility-managed settable nodes located on a plurality of CEBus networks.

    摘要: A communication protocol proxy enables a CEBus network to be mapped across a non-CEBus network, thereby allowing a remotely located node (e.g., a controller) to communicate via a non-CEBus network with electronic devices connected to the CEBus network, while still conforming with the EIA/IS-60 protocol requirements. In a preferred embodiment, a proxy node is provided on a CEBus network, wherein the proxy node is also connected to a non-CEBus network, (e.g., a wide area network ("WAN")), such that a remotely located controller on the non-CEBus network may communicate with a device on the CEBus network by transmitting messages to the proxy node over the non-CEBus network. The proxy node then forwards the message to the respective CEBus device over the CEBus network. If the message requires a CEBus Ack message response, the CEBus device transmits a CEBus Ack message to the proxy node, so that it is received within the time interval specified by the CEBus standard. On receiving the CEBus Ack message, the proxy node transmits a non-CEBus standard acknowledge message to the controller, which can be received over an extended time interval. If the message does not require a CEBus Ack message response, the proxy node still transmits a non-CEBus standard acknowledge message to the controller in order to verify receipt of the message.

    摘要: Functional definitions and data transmission protocols are provided for both downstream and upstream OAM data flows in an ATM-based point-to-multipoint broadband access network ("BAN"), such as a passive optical network ("PON"). In particular, B-ISDN OAM functions are defined from an "OAM flow" perspective, wherein some of the PON physical layer related functions are performed at the F1 level flow, including all functions relating to the sign-on, ranging, power tuning, synchronization and timing status of the ONUs. F3 flow level functions are defined to include further performance and fault management functions, as well as MAC related functions, concerning mainly upstream and for upstream bandwidth management transactions between the headend facility and the respective ONUs. The F1 and F3 OAM data flows are transported in respective downstream frames and upstream packets in preferred protocols suitable for a point-to-multipoint network configuration. In particular, downstream F1 OAM flows are carried in specifically allocated overhead of each downstream frame header, with a downstream F1 "flow unit" defined as the entire frame. Downstream F3 OAM flows may be alternately carried in either the framing overhead, or in overhead associated with specific downstream ATM slots, with a downstream F3 flow unit defined as the respective ATM slots. Upstream F1 and F3 data flows are carried in specifically allocated overhead associated with each upstream packet.

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a gain and phase controller that uses a digital gain and phase estimator to jointly estimate both gain and phase. The forward and feedback signals of a wireless transmitter are digitized using analog to digital (ADC) converters. The digital signals are correlated with each other to dynamically extract gain and phase estimates of the loop. The gain and phase estimates are used to correct gain and phase errors in the wireless transmitter.
