    摘要: Image-based products are obtained from a digital motion picture source by utilizing a content playing and display system for (a) displaying a sequence of motion picture image frames from a digital motion picture image source containing motion picture contents, and (b) selecting one or more of the image frames for an image-based product and obtaining a unique frame identification for said one or more selected frames; a content management system that (a) utilizes the unique frame identification and determines whether at least one permissible image-based product can be made from said one or more selected frames, and (b), if a permissible image-based product may be made as determined, obtains file data corresponding to said one or more selected frames from a digital source file containing source information corresponding to the motion picture contents; an order management system for preparing order information for the permissible image-based product from the file data; and an order fulfillment system for generating the image-based product from the file data according to the order information.

The optical resonator may use an output optical coating or one or more Bragg grating reflectors as an output coupler. One or more optical resonators may be used to produce one or more visible or ultraviolet radiation wavelengths. One or more independently controllable lightwave modulators are used to modulate the visible or ultraviolet wavelength radiation.

    摘要: An optical frequency converter and method of making same is disclosed. The converter includes a nonlinear optical support having a homogeneous periodically domain reversed portion and an optical waveguide which traverses the surface of the support. At least a segment of the waveguide intersects the homogeneous periodically domain reversed portion of the support to achieve a quasi phase-matched nonlinear optical frequency conversion interaction. The domain reversed portion is selected to be compositionally indistinguishable from the remainder of the waveguide.

    摘要: An electro-optic modulator comprises a panel of electro-optic material containing a plurality of pixel regions which are activatable from an isotropic to birefringent state by application of an electric field, each pixel region including at least four linear electrodes extending transversely thereacross in a regularly spaced relation. In one preferred embodiment such electrodes have gaps therebetween in the range from about 50 microns to about 100 microns. In a related aspect the intra-pixel electrodes of each pixel region have a width in the range of from about 25 microns to 75 microns. In another aspect such electrodes can have one of several preferred structural configurations facilitating electrical addressing.

    摘要: A Josephson junction device is disclosed having a substrate upon which are located overlying and underlying high critical temperature crystalline oxide superconductive layers separated by an interposed impedance controlling layer. The underlying superconductive layer is limited to a selected area of the substrate while the overlying and interposed layers overlie only a portion of the underlying superconductive layer. Nonsuperconducting oxide layer portions laterally abut the superconductive and interposed layers. A first electrical conductor is attached to the underlying superconductive layer at a location free of overlying oxide layers, and a second electrical conductor contacts the overlying superconductive layer and extends laterally over the adjacent laterally abutting nonsuperconductive layer portion. A process is disclosed for preparing the Josephson junction device in which a Josephson junction layer sequence is deposited on a substrate, a portion of the Josephson junction layer sequence laterally abutting a selected area is converted to a nonsuperconducting form, within the selected area overlying layers are removed from the superconducting layer nearer the substrate, and an electrical conductor extends laterally from the superconducting layer farther removed from the substrate to the laterally abutting nonsuperconducting layer.
