    摘要： The present invention relates to personal care compositions. These compositions comprise an adhesive copolymer and a solvent for the copolymer selected from the group consisting of water, ethanol, n-propanol, isopropanol, acetone, propylene glycol, and mixtures thereof. The compositions, when dried, exhibit a cohesive strength of greater than about 0.5 kgf/mm.sup.2, a total energy absorption per unit volume of greater than about 0.55 kgfmm/mm.sup.3, and an impact strength of greater than about 7000 ergs. Preferred are hairspray embodiments of the present invention having improved removeability from hair as defined by a hair stiffness value of from 0 to about 3.5 (0 to 4 scale) and a hair flaking value of from 0 to about 3.5 (0 to 4 scale), which values are determined by the removeability methodology defined herein.

    摘要： The present invention relates to hair styling compositions and in particular to hair spray compositions. These compositions comprise a silicone containing adhesive copolymer, having a weight average molecular weight from about 10,000 to about 5,000,000, and a solvent for said copolymer selected from the group consisting of water, ethanol, n-propanol, isopropanol, and mixtures thereof. The spray compositions, when dried, have a cohesive strength of greater than about 0.5 kgf/mm.sup.2, a total energy absorption per unit volume of greater than about 0.55 kgfmm/mm.sup.3 and , preferably an impact strength of greater than about 7000 ergs. The hairspray embodiments of the present invention preferably provide improved removeability from hair as defined by a hair stiffness value of from 0 to about 3.5 (0 to 4 scale) and a hair flaking value of from 0 to about 3.5 (0 to 4 scale) as determined by the removeability methodology defined herein. The instant invention also relates to a method of styling and/or holding hair comprising the step of applying to the hair an effective amount of the above compositions.

    摘要： Emulsion compositions, suitable for personal care applications such as hair styling, and other applications, are disclosed. The compositions comprise:a) a silicone functional polymer having the formula selected from the group consisting of:(AB).sub.n ; ABA; BAB; ##STR1## and mixtures thereof; wherein B is a silicone moiety comprising repeating units of: ##STR2## R is independently, C1-C30 alkyl, aryl, alkylaryl, haloalkyl, H, or C1-C6 alkoxy, wherein the weight average molecular weight of each silicone moiety B is independently from about 1500 to about 50,000;A is a polar polymeric moiety which is soluble or dispersible in mixtures of ethanol and water containing less than 60% ethanol by weight; andn is an integer of 1 or greater;wherein the molecular weight of the silicone functional polymer is at least about 2,000.b) an organopolysiloxane emulsion comprising:(i) a polyorganosiloxane dispersed as particles in the emulsion, the polyorganosiloxane having an average particle size of less than about 150 nanometers, and(ii) a surfactant system for dispersing the organopolysiloxane in the emulsion;c) a carrier comprising at least about 0.5%, by weight of the composition, of a first solvent selected from the group consisting of water; water soluble organic solvents; organic solvents which are strongly to moderately strong in hydrogen-bonding parameter; and mixtures thereof; wherein the first solvent is other than C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 monohydric alcohol, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 ketone and C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 ether;wherein the silicone functional polymer is present in an amount effective to stabilize the emulsion in the personal care composition.

    摘要： A hair styling composition comprising: (a) from about 0.1% to about 15%, by weight, of an adhesive polymer, said polymer being characterized by an organic polymeric backbone wherein said polymer is substantially free of silicone; (b) from about 0.1% to about 15%, by weight, of a silicone grafted adhesive polymer, said polymer being characterized by an organic polymeric backbone, compatible with said adhesive polymer of (a) wherein said silicone grafted adhesive polymer has silicone macromers grafted to said backbone and wherein the number average molecular weight of said silicone macromers is greater than about 500; (c) from about 0.1% to about 15%, by weight, of a hydrocarbon solvent selected from the group consisting of C10-C14 branched chain hydrocarbons, and mixtures thereof having a boiling point of from about 105° C. to about 260° C.; (d) a polar solvent phase comprising from about 80% to about 99%, by weight of the composition, of a polar solvent selected from the group consisting of water and C2-C3 monohydric alcohols, and mixtures thereof, wherein said composition contains no more than about 15%, by weight, of C3 monohydric alcohol; wherein said organic polymer backbone is soluble in said polar solvent phase, and said silicone macromers of said hair setting polymer are soluble in said hydrocarbon solvent.
