    摘要: A two-dimensional optimization between adaptive modulation and coding (AMC) and multi-code transmission targets the best bit rate at which a highest useable modulation and coding scheme (MCS) achieves a maximum allowed number of channelization codes or less. The optimized MCS and number of channelization codes at a best bit rate is communicated from a transmitter to a receiver, possibly also with power information for instance using a transport format combination indicator (TFCI). A user equipment may play the role of carrying out the optimization and signaling the result to the Node B or may instead receive the result as carried out by the Node B or RNC in response to a radio link quality measurement sent from the UE to the Node B.

The communication system is such that a plurality of user equipment can communicate data on a dedicated channel. In the method a request for communication resources may be sent from a user equipment to the station on a first protocol layer. Priority information is obtained at the station from a data flow on a second protocol layer. Communication resources may then at least partially be allocated based on said priority information.

    摘要: In order to reduce the HS-SCCH overhead, a fixed time allocation approach could be used. In that case, the scheduling time of each VoIP user is semi-static and thus there is no need to transmit e.g. HS-SCCH toward the UE for the initial transmissions, if the UE knows when to receive data on the HS-DSCH and what transport format is used. There are at least two ways of implementing this: 1) HS-SCCH/E-DPCCH signalling to indicate parameters of a first transmission, with subsequent transmissions using the same parameters (and HS-SCCH/E-DPCCH always sent when changes needed), or 2) fixed allocation, RRC signalling used to allocate users and tell the default transport parameters.

    摘要: When employing HARQ in soft handover (SHO) in a mobile communication system, a mobile station in communication with multiple base stations is signaled by each of the base stations when a packet sent by the mobile station is correctly received. However, while one or more base stations may have received the transmission correctly, others may not have, and retransmission may be called for. To address the possibility of having to resend such a packet, the mobile station of the invention retransmits only if a selected number of the base stations received the transmission incorrectly and does not if at least one base station received the original transmission correctly. The mobile transmits at a rate selected according to a rule from data rate information or signaling received from one or more of the base stations. The network is then able to retrieve the packet from one or more of the base stations which have received it correctly and to supply it to another or others which have not.

    摘要: A system and method is provided which allows for the dynamic interpretation of a transport block size field in a Layer 1/Layer 2 (L1/L2) control channel, such that for any first H-ARQ transmission, the transport block size indication field will indicate the size of the transport block. For any retransmission, the transport block size indication bits can be transformed into dedicated bits for indicating the RV used as it relates to circular buffering. A robust bit field for indicating new data transmission (e,g, new data indication (NDI)) is therefore introduced, and from a UE perspective it is possible to determine how to interpret the transport block size field.
