    摘要: This invention relates to reactive polymers, e.g., aqueous emulsion polymers, having pendant flexible or dangling side chains prepared from ethylenically unsaturated carbodiimides, e.g., carbodiimide (meth)acrylates. The reactive polymers contain ethylenic unsaturation near the surface or in the surface area of the particles that form the polymers, the ethylenic unsaturation being connected to the polymer through the pendant flexible or dangling side chains. This invention also relates to the process for preparing the reactive polymers, to crosslinkable formulations based on the reactive polymers, and to thermoplastic and crosslinked films prepared from the reactive polymers. The reactive polymers are useful as decorative and functional coatings, inks, adhesives, textile coatings and sealants.

    摘要: A method of delivering electrical therapy to a patient by a medical device includes activating the medical device and performing a first analysis of a first set of data signals sensed by the medical device. If the first analysis shows the first set of data signals meets a first criterion, then charging of an energy delivery circuit is commenced upon completion of the first analysis. A second analysis of a second set of data signals from the patient is performed, and if the second analysis determines that the second set of data signals meet a second criterion, the therapy is delivered. The steps of performing the first analysis and performing the second analysis may be begun at substantially the same time. The step of charging may overlap in time with the step of performing a second analysis. The medical device may be an external defibrillator and the therapy may be a defibrillating shock.

    摘要: Stable water-borne polymer compositions are disclosed. The compositions comprise a water-borne polymer, a metal cross-linking agent and a stabilizing agent comprising from 2 to 10 carbon atoms and at least two functional groups independently selected from hydroxy and carboxy. The stabilizing agent is present a 1.4 mole percent or more of the amount of metal cross-linking agent. Inventive compositions are particularly suitable for use in water-based inks and coatings. Methods of making and using the coating compositions are also described.

    摘要: Coating compositions include polymeric particles, an isocyanate-containing crosslinking agent, and water. The polymeric particles include at least one incorporated monoalkenyl aromatic monomer, at least one incorporated vinyl-containing surfactant macromonomer, and at least one incorporated acrylic monomer. At least one incorporated acrylic monomer in the polymeric particles includes a hydroxyl, amine, or a carboxylic acid functional group. The crosslinking agent is an isocyanate-containing organic compound or such a compound with blocked isocyanate groups. Coating compositions may be deposited and cured by heating to form crosslinked coating compositions. Such crosslinked coating compositions exhibit excellent solvent resistance.
