Specific applications include a method separating mixed granular material based upon dissimilar specific gravities, useful in cleaning firearm ranges by separating lead from backstop material. Falling granular lead particulates can also be airwashed and negative pressure facilitates control of lead dust. Also disclosed are applications that pick up and clean or enrich precious metal bearing ore, and a broad range of applications from heavy mixtures, such as landscape rock, to light mixtures such as grain.

    摘要： A concrete lid for an in-ground utilities box includes a reinforcement structure filled with concrete. The reinforcement structure includes a plastic frame and one or more reinforcing trusses that extend between opposing sidewalls of the plastic frame. The reinforcing trusses also extend substantially between the upper and lower edges of the opposing sidewalls. For example, a reinforcing truss may include a flat truss member that is substantially coplanar with the lower edges of the sidewalls, and an arched truss member that extends towards (but does not reach) a plane defined by the upper edges of the sidewalls. The reinforcing trusses include openings that allow wet concrete to pass through. The sidewalls of the plastic frame protect the edges of the lid from damage. The reinforcing trusses reinforce the concrete lid, eliminating the need for separate reinforcement material.

    摘要： A photometric detection system including a light source, a photometric detector, and a flow cell assembly. The flow cell assembly includes a tubular liquid core waveguide having inlet and discharge ends for receiving and discharging a flow of the sample fluid. A first coupling device optically couples the light source to the waveguide at a first position along the length of the waveguide. A second coupling device optically couples the detector to the waveguide at a second position along the length of the waveguide. The first and second positions define an optical path length within the waveguide. The second position is variable relative to the first position such that the optical path length is selectively varied.
