Abstract:
A feedthrough terminal assembly for an active implantable medical device utilizes an insert to establish a reliable electrical connection between capacitor electrode plates, via inner surface metallization of a capacitor aperture, and an associated terminal pin 10, which passes at least partially therethrough. The inserts are preferably resiliently flexible, such as a spring, to establish this connection. The insert also serves to establish a mechanical connection between the capacitor and the terminal pin.

Abstract:
A feedthrough capacitor filter assembly includes a capacitor having first and second sets of conductive electrode plates embedded within an insulative or dielectric body, and a leak detection vent for facilitated hermetic seal testing prior to use. At least one feedthrough terminal pin extends through the capacitor in conductive relative with the first set of electrode plates, and an outer ferrule is mounted about the capacitor in conductive relation with the second set of electrode plates. A hermetic seal is seated within the ferrule at one side of the capacitor to prevent leakage of fluid through the filter assembly. The hermetic seal is spaced from a face of the capacitor to form a gap therebetween.
Abstract:
An expansion chamber includes a chamber body having a top portion above a bottom portion cooperatively forming a hollow chamber volume configured to temporarily contain an expansion of bubbles during an aeration process for aerating a liquid, including wine and other alcoholic beverages. The bottom portion has a bottom opening configured to engage an opening of an uncorked and/or opened wine bottle. The top portion has a top opening. The hollow chamber volume is configured to be in fluid communication with an inside of the uncorked and/or opened bottle when the bottom opening is engaged with the opening of the uncorked and/or opened bottle. A maximum inside diameter of the hollow chamber volume in a horizontal plane with respect to the uncorked and/or opened wine bottle set upon a horizontal surface is cooperatively formed between the top and bottom portions, wherein the maximum inside diameter is at least 2.50 inches.
Abstract:
An aeration assembly for aerating liquids including wine and other alcoholic beverages includes an expansion chamber and an aerating device. The expansion chamber is configured to be in fluid communication with an inside of the uncorked and/or opened bottle when engaged by a bottom portion of the expansion chamber. The aerating device comprises a gas conduit having a proximal end in fluid communication with a distal end. The distal end is disposable below the bottom portion of the expansion chamber. A gas source is in fluid communication with the proximal end of the gas conduit. The expansion chamber is configured to temporarily contain an expansion of bubbles during an aeration process. The expansion chamber and aerating device are not permanently connected, wherein the aerating device can be fully removed from the expansion chamber before, during or after the aeration process.

An improved fishing or hunting wader, exposure suit or foul weather pants/bib incorporates a novel waterproof connectable hatch to provide access for urination. The low profile and lightweight waterproof hatch is centered over the groin area and allows the wearer of a fishing wader, or similar foul weather gear pants, to be able to quickly open the hatch and urinate without removing the cumbersome garment. A hinged or connectable lid may swing upwards and downwards and features a hook-and-loop fastener, a magnetic, or mechanical fastener so that the lid is held up in place and out of the way. After urination, the lid may conveniently snap back into place against a seal or O-ring thereby forming a water tight seal.

An aerator includes an expansion chamber. The expansion chamber is defined as having a top portion and a bottom portion. The bottom portion is configured to engage an opening of an uncorked wine bottle. The top portion is disposed above the opening of the uncorked wine bottle. The expansion chamber is configured to be in fluid communication with an inside of the uncorked wine bottle. A gas conduit has a proximal end in fluid communication with a distal end. The gas conduit passes through the bottom portion of the expansion chamber and the distal end is disposed below the bottom portion of the expansion chamber. The proximal end is disposed above the bottom portion of the expansion chamber. A gas source is in fluid communication with the proximal end of the gas conduit. The expansion chamber is configured to temporarily contain an expansion of wine bubbles during an aeration process.
Abstract:
A band stop filter is provided for a lead wire of an active medical device (AMD). The band stop filter includes a capacitor in parallel with an inductor. The parallel capacitor and inductor are placed in series with the lead wire of the AMD, wherein values of capacitance and inductance are selected such that the band stop filter is resonant at a selected frequency. The Q of the inductor may be relatively maximized and the Q of the capacitor may be relatively minimized to reduce the overall Q of the band stop filter to attenuate current flow through the lead wire along a range of selected frequencies. In a preferred form, the band stop filter is integrated into a TIP and/or RING electrode for an active implantable medical device.

Abstract:
A lead extending exteriorly from an active implantable medical device (AIMD) is at least partially ensheathed within an electromagnetic interference (EMI) shield. The AIMD has a conductive equipotential surface to which the EMI shield may be conductively coupled. An impeding circuit may be provided for raising the high frequency impedance of the lead. An energy diversion circuit may also be provided for conductively coupling the lead to the EMI shield.
