摘要: Sorting apparatus has a conveyor belt or equivalent mechanism for moving particles at a speed sufficient to generate a stream of particles in air, which particles can be graded such that unacceptable material can be removed. The grading or sorting is conducted by a primary scanning system for analyzing light reflected from particles in the stream in a plurality of wavelength ranges. Ejectors for removing particles from the stream are disposed downstream of the scanning system, and are instructed in response to signals received from the scanning system. An auxiliary scanning system is also included to establish the presence of material in the stream, and in the event that a void is detected in a given region, then the analysis of that region by the primary scanning system and any corresponding activation of the ejectors is inhibited.

摘要: Sorting apparatus has a conveyor belt or equivalent mechanism for moving particles at a speed sufficient to generate a stream of particles in air, which particles can be graded such that selected material can be removed. The grading or sorting is conducted by a primary scanning system for analysing light reflected from particles in the stream in a plurality of wavelength ranges. If the auxiliary scanning system operates on the basis of light transmitted in the infra-red wavelength, then the scanning system can differentiate between a situation in which it is receiving light reflected from a product piece in a product stream, and light transmitted across the path of the product stream in the absence of a product piece therefrom. By this means, the monitoring of light received from the path of the product stream in the infra-red range can be used to perform all functions.

摘要: A mobile authorization service may be implemented as a web-based service, hosted on an authorization service server, and may exchange messages with various computing devices of subscribers to the service, including mobile communication devices. The service may be implemented as a software application executing on the server, and may include a client portion executing on subscriber computer systems and/or mobile communication devices, or subscribers may interact with the service using a text messaging application or a web browsing application. The service may receive an authorization request from a subscriber and may send a request message to an approver. The approver may send a reply message to the service indicating an answer. After authenticating the reply, the service may provide a response to the requester. The service may store information regarding authorization requests and responses. An authorization service subscriber account may be configurable for an individual or corporate subscriber.

摘要: Embodiments of the present invention provide a polling system. The system starts by receiving responses to a poll from one or more poll respondents. The system then uses information in a database to determine the reliability of the responses. Next, the system aggregates the poll responses. The system then displays the aggregated poll responses

摘要: In various embodiments, user support in computer software applications may be provided on the basis of user interaction histories. Critical points may be defined throughout the applications and the user interaction histories at these critical points may be stored and indexed for future retrieval. User interaction histories at these critical points may also be scored to determine, for example, whether the system should intervene. In some embodiments, when providing user support, an entity may access the user interaction history (e.g., using the index). The user interaction history may assist the entity in determining how to assist the system user at their current point in the application. In some embodiments, user support may be not limited to assisting the system user with a problem. For example, user support may include presenting a promotion or advertisement to the system user based on the user interaction history.

摘要: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system for performing a tone-based search. During operation, the system receives a search-request, which includes a search request-term. For each context-term in a pre-defined list of context-terms, the system, in response to receiving the search-term, searches a first set of documents for the context-term and the search-term, wherein each context-term is associated with a tone. Next, the system obtains a list of search results from the search, and for each search result in the list of search results, the system assigns a score. Then, for each search result in the list of search results, the system creates a link which points to the locations in a document of an occurrence of the search-term, and an occurrence of a context-term.
