Abstract: An electric motor lubricating fluid for an electric motor system including a lubricating base oil, at least one sulfurized component, at least two phosphorus-providing additives, and at least one high molecular weight dispersant. The electric motor lubricating fluid provides acceptable wear performance as well as good electrical conductivity and oxidative stability for use in electric motor system fluids having a low viscosity.

Abstract: This invention relates to a lubricating composition comprising or resulting from the admixing of: base oil, detergent, and one or more metal alkanoates having a quaternary carbon atom at the 2 position, the 2′ position, or both the 2 and 2′ positions, where the lubricating composition preferably has an adhesive wear of 100 hours or more, a foam volume of 70 ml or less at 24° C., and 50 ml or less at 93.5° C., and, optionally, a total base number of 7 mgKOH/g or more.

Abstract: A lubricating composition includes at least one base oil, at least one borated dispersant, at least two antioxidants selected from amine antioxidants, phenolic antioxidants substituted with one or more linear or branched alkyl groups having from 1 to 30 carbon atoms, and mixtures thereof, and at least one phosphite polymer having the formula (I) wherein: - each of the R1, R2, R3 and R4 can be independently selected from the C1-C20 alkyl, C3-C22 alkenyl, C6-C40 cycloalkyl, C7-C40 cycloalkenyl, C1-20 methoxy alkyl glycol ethers and Y-OH groups; - Y is selected from C2-C40 alkylene, C2-C40 alkyl lactone, —R7— N(R8)—R9— groups, in which R7, R8 and R9 are independently selected from hydrogen, C1-C20 alkyl, C3-C22 alkenyl, C6-C40 cycloalkyl, C7-C40 cycloalkenyl, C1-20 methoxy alkyl glycol ethers; - m is an integer from 2 to 100; - n is an integer from 1 to 1000.

Abstract: The present invention describes a pipe sealing compound/adjunct lubricant used to prevent gas or liquid leaks when applied to pipe threads and other connections of the same. The compound relies on silicone oil lubricant(s) and one or more friction modifier(s), viscosity builder(s) and filler material(s). The compound contains a viscoelastic liquid that does not have a curing phase and is resistant to hardening and/or drying. The compound is chemically resistant to a wide variety of liquids and gases, is food safe and can withstand extreme high or low temperatures and precipitous temperature fluctuations. The compound has been found to exhibit an inverse pressure to leak rate phenomena.

Abstract: Lubricating compositions containing a phosphorus-containing salt of an acylated ethylene-α-olefin polymer substituted with an aliphatic polyamine having at least one primary or secondary amine, the lubricating composition having a total phosphorus content in an amount of 200 ppm to 600 ppm by weight of the lubricating composition. The phosphorus-containing salt additive described herein can be used as an anti-wear agent in lubricating composition for diesel engines.

Abstract: An additive formulation suitable for antistatic modification and improving the electrical conductivity of inanimate organic material, consisting essentially of (A) from 1 to 50% by weight of an olefin-sulfur dioxide copolymer, (B) from 1 to 50% by weight of a compound which comprises one or more basic nitrogen atoms and has at least one relatively long-chain linear or branched hydrocarbon radical having at least four carbon atoms or an equivalent structural element which ensures the solubility of component (B) in the inanimate organic material, (C) from 0.1 to 30% by weight of an oil-soluble acid and (D) from 1 to 80% by weight of a high-boiling organic solvent which consists of one or more molecule types, where at least 80% by weight of these molecule types have a boiling point of more than 150° C. at standard pressure, where the sum of all components adds up to 100% by weight.

Abstract: An additive package for an internal combustion engine crankcase lubricating oil composition, which additive package comprises or is made by admixing: (A) 5-99.4 mass % based on the mass of the additive package, of a diluent oil of lubricating viscosity; and (B) the following additives: (B1) 0.1-10 mass % of a polymeric friction modifier, on an active matter basis, based on the mass of the additive package, which polymeric friction modifier is the reaction product of (a) a functionalised polyolefin, (b) a polyether, (c) a polyol, and (d) a monocarboxylic acid chain terminating group (B2) 0.5 to 10 mass % on an active matter basis, based on the mass of the additive package of one or more ashless organic friction modifiers that include a polar terminal group covalently bonded to a monomeric oleophilic hydrocarbon chain.
