    摘要: A system for electronic imaging of a hemispheric field of view includes a camera for receiving optical images of the field of view and for producing output data corresponding to the optical images. The camera includes an optical assembly for producing images throughout a hemispheric field of view for optical conveyance to an imaging device or photographic film. The optical system assembly has lens components that selectively emphasize the peripheral content of the hemispheric field of view. An electronic imaging device within the camera or a film-to-digital date conversion system provides digitized output signals to input image memory or electronic storage devices. A transform processor selectively accesses and processes the digitized output signals from the input image memory according to user-defined criteria and stores the signals in output image memory. The signals in the output image memory can then be displayed according to the user-defined criteria.

    摘要: An electrical connector for connecting a hot melt applicator to a source of electrical power in a system where molten adhesive is delivered to the applicator through a hose from a remote source of adhesive and where the hose carries wires connected to a remote electrical power source. The connector includes a one piece molded plastic cuff having a through opening such that the cuff can be slid on the end of the hose remote from the source of adhesive, and a plug block housing integral with the cuff including an integral internal plug block having a number of through openings for receiving and retaining the electrical leads which pass radially through the side of the hose. The housing further includes a plug block cavity adapted to be disposed at the outboard end of the hose such that the electrical leads can be easily inserted into the openings in the plug block from the outboard end of the hose in a direction generally along the long axis of the hose. An end cover covers the plug block cavity and keeps the connector from rotating on the end of the hose. The end of the plug block opposite the plug block cavity receives a quick connect-disconnect plug attached to the electrical wiring from the hot melt applicator such that the applicator can be quickly and easily connected to the power source.

    摘要: A hot melt hose has multiple electrically heated hose sections physically and electrically interconnected end-to-end between a pressurized hot melt source and hot melt dispenser, such as a hand-held gun having a trigger-controlled valve for regulating the flow of hot melt from the gun. Each of the hose sections includes an inner, fluid impervious, chemically inert tube, preferably fabricated of tetrafuoroethlene; an electrically conductive multi-strand braided resistance heating sheath snugly embracing the exterior surface of the inner tube and in intimate heat transfer contact therewith for supplying strength and heat to the tube; and an outer sheath of thermal insulating material for minimizing heat loss. The hose sections are interconnected by a heated joint which comprises electrically conductive hose end fittings electrically connected to the braided sheath and connected by threaded swivel nuts to an electrical insulating fitting. Internally of the insulating fitting there is an electrical resistance heater spring which extends between and electrically interconnects the hose end fittings. The spring has an electrical resistance such that the flow of current from the braided sheath of one hose section to that of the other produces sufficient heat in the fitting so that the interior of the joint is maintained at approximately the same temperature as the interior of the hose sections.

Multiple plies of heat and electrical insulative material are helically wrapped around the braided covering and a least one electrical heating line is helically wrapped and embedded within the multiple plies. A molded plastic cuff is secured to each end of the hose and an exterior ply of corrugated polymeric tubing is provided about the exterior of the hose to prevent kinking and breaking of the hose at each hose cuff caused by severe bending forces at that location. The exterior of the corrugated tubing has annular ribs separated by annular recesses into which annular ribs on the interior of each cuff extend to secure the cuffs to the corrugated tubing.

    摘要: A heating system is disclosed for a hot melt hose having multiple physically and thermally interchangeable series-connected heated hose sections wherein different hose sections exhibit different electrical power requirements per unit length. The multiple sections of the hose are physically and electrically interconnected end-to-end between a pressurized hot melt source and a hot melt dispenser, such as a hand-held gun, having a trigger-controlled valve for regulating the flow of hot melt from the gun. Each of the hose sections includes an inner, fluid impervious, chemically inert tube, preferably fabricated of tetrafluoroethylene; an electrically conductive multi-strand braided sheath snugly embracing the exterior surface of the inner tube and in intimate heat transfer contact therewith for supplying strength and heat to the tube; and an outer sheath of thermal insulating material surrounding the intermediate braided sheath for minimizing heat loss to the environment. At least two of the hose sections have outer thermal insulating layers exhibiting different heat loss per unit length and associated electrically conductive braided sheaths of substantially equal strength and flexibility, but exhibiting different electrical power consumption per unit length. As such, when the braided sheaths of different hose construction are series-connected and a constant current from a regulated constant current power source is passed through the serially-connected braided sheaths, the temperature of the hot melt material within the different hose sections is maintained at substantially the same temperature notwithstanding the difference in the heat loss characteristics of the thermal insulating outer layers of the different hoses.
