摘要: An implanted microphone is provided that has reduced sensitivity to vibration and attendant acceleration forces. In this regard, the microphone differentiates between the desirable and undesirable components of a transcutaneously received signal. More specifically, the present invention utilizes an output that is indicative of acceleration forces acting on the implanted microphone (e.g., an acceleration signal) to counteract and/or cancel the effects of acceleration induced pressures in an output signal of a microphone diaphragm. This may be done in a variety of ways, including but not limited to, pneumatically, mechanically, electrical analog, or digitally, or combinations thereof. In one arrangement, the generated output may be filtered to match the an acceleration response of the output signal of the microphone diaphragm such that upon removal of the motion signal from the microphone output, the remaining signal is an acoustic signal.

摘要: An implantable hearing aid transducer apparatus provides a simplified approach for interface with a middle ear component. The transducer includes a transducer housing, an actuator for middle ear coupling, and a driver having a magnet or coil interconnected to the actuator to induce movement in response to driver signals. In one feature, the actuator may be advanceable through an aperture of the housing independent from operation of the driver. In another feature, a portion of the transducer may be rotatable. In another feature, a retention apparatus may function to selectively secure a rotatable portion of the housing in a selected position. In an additional feature, a seal may be disposed around a driver component and connected to the actuator.

In some embodiments, an ultrasound device may automatically change the elevational steering angle of its ultrasound beam (e.g., using beamforming) in order to collect ultrasound data from different imaging planes within the subject. A processing device in operative communication with the ultrasound device may select one of the collected ultrasound images based on its quality (e.g., select the ultrasound image having the highest quality), and then continue to collect ultrasound images using the elevational steering angle at which the selected ultrasound image was collected.

摘要: In order to prevent color bleeding, a method of volume rendering a three-dimensional (3D) dataset includes identifying, by a processor, a mask that defines a segmented volume within the 3D dataset. The processor identifies a position within the 3D dataset at or adjacent to a boundary defined by the mask, identifies a plurality of voxels within the 3D dataset that are adjacent to the identified position within the 3D dataset, and determine, for each voxel of the plurality of voxels, whether the respective voxel is inside or outside of the identified mask. The processor determines, for each voxel of the plurality of voxels, a weight for the respective voxel based on the determination of whether the respective voxel is inside or outside of the identified mask. The processor determines a voxel value for the identified position based on the determined weights and voxel values for the plurality of voxels, respectively.

摘要: A method of navigation in three-dimensional, electronic image data sets is disclosed, whereby the image data sets contain three-dimensional image data subsets. The method includes optically representing at least one two-dimensional projection of an image data set that includes a two-dimensional subprojection of at least one image data subset, optically highlighting the at least one two-dimensional subprojection, receiving a user input directed to the selection of a certain subprojection, and optically representing, in accordance with said user input, at least one additional two-dimensional projection of the image data set that includes a two-dimensional projection of the selected image data subset. The method can be used for an image data set that is formed by fusion of at least two source image data sets. The source image data sets can especially comprise computer tomography and a positron-emission tomography image data set.
