摘要: An annular assembly for a gas turbine engine and a method of making the annular assembly. The annular assembly comprises a supporting member comprising metal and including a support hole therethrough, and a liner tile made of ceramic matrix composite material. A plurality of the liner tile form an annular liner to shield hot combustion gases produced by the gas turbine engine. The liner tile is disposed adjacent the supporting member. A connecting member comprising ceramic material has a base element and a stem. The base element is embedded in the liner tile during construction of the liner tile to form an integrated structure therewith. A distal end of the stem passes through the support hole and is mated with a retaining member to retain the liner tile adjacent the supporting member.

摘要: Techniques for infiltrating a CMC substrate may include infiltrating the CMC substrate with a first slurry to at least partially fill at least some inner spaces of the CMC substrate, where the first slurry includes first solid particles, drying the first slurry to form an infiltrated CMC including the first solid particles, depositing a second slurry including a carrier material and second solid particles on a surface of the infiltrated CMC, where the second solid particles include a plurality of fine ceramic particles, a plurality of coarse ceramic particles, and a plurality of diamond particles, drying the second slurry to form an article having an outer surface layer including the second solid particles on the infiltrated CMC, and infiltrating the article with a molten infiltrant to form a composite article.

摘要: Techniques for joining textile materials are provided. In one non-limiting form, a system includes a woven structure having a first woven layer and at least a first section and a second section. The first section includes a first fringe portion and a first set of fibers, and the second section includes a second fringe portion and a second set of fibers. The fibers of the first and second sets of fibers are configured in the first and second fringe portions to provide an interlocking arrangement between the first and second sections. Further embodiments, forms, features, and aspects shall become apparent from the description and drawings.
