    摘要: An electronic door lock/unlatch control in which the latching mechanisms latch mechanically upon door closing and include electric motor driven unlatching mechanisms but no mechanical locking apparatus. Locking is accomplished electronically for each door by a flip-flop which enables or disables a power MOSFET connected in series with the unlatch motor and unlatch switch for the door and an electric power source. The flip-flop for each door also controls lock status indicating lights. A rear door unlatch disable switch is included additionally in series with the rear door unlatch switch to allow operator disabling of the rear doors.

    摘要: An electropneumatic door lock control in which a pump activatable to generate a first or second pressure is controlled by a bistable pressure latch and communicated through passenger lock and auxiliary solenoids to pneumatic passenger lock and auxiliary actuators. Initiation means for first and second locking operations of a passenger door lock and a third locking operation of an auxiliary lock are interconnected with the bistable pressure latch, a bistable passenger latch and a bistable auxiliary latch and first and second timers to control the locking operations so that the first and second locking operations generate different pressures but activate the same timer for a duration of activation while the third locking operation generates one of the pressures but activates the other timer for a different duration of activation. With each activation of one of the initiation means the non-chosen latches and timer are deactivated. The auxiliary actuator may be a vehicle trunk lid release or fuel filler door release.

    摘要: Each vehicle door in which a retractor is mounted includes a jamb switch mounted in the door jamb for sensing actual opening of the door, and a lock switch mounted in the door lock assembly for sensing actuation of the interior or exterior door handles. When door opening or closure is indicated, locking of the retractors is inhibited for a predetermined interval. Logical agreement between the lock and jamb switches is required to maintain the inhibit beyond the predetermined interval while the door is open. If agreement is not achieved within the interval, a switch failure is presumed, and the inhibit is removed to permit normal locking of the retractors. If such agreement is achieved, the inhibit is maintained until closure of the door, and thereafter for another predetermined interval. If the switches fail to remain in agreement after closure of the door, further operation of the inhibit on subsequent opening of the door is disabled.

    摘要: A control means for a restraint belt retractor includes a latch bolt sensor directly actuating the disabling means of the retractor and movable between actuated and unactuated positions. The sensor is normally located in unactuated position in the path of movement of the latch bolt when the latch bolt is in latched position. As the latch bolt moves to unlatched position it engages the sensor and moves it to actuated position. The sensor is connected to an operating lever of the door latch through a lost motion connection. This connection provides an operative connection to the operating lever when the sensor is in the unactuated position and provides a free wheeling connection when the sensor is in an actuated position. This permits the inside and outside operators, which operate the operating lever, to be released and to free wheel relative to the sensor when the sensor is in actuated position.

    摘要: A cable drive unit for opening and closing a sliding door on a vehicle (not shown) has a cup-shaped front drum having a helical front cable groove and a rear cup-shaped drum having a helical rear cable groove. The front drum is rotated about a longitudinal axis in a first direction to open the sliding door. The rear drum is partially nested in the front drum and rotated about the longitudinal axis in an opposite direction to close the sliding door. The front drum and the rear drum are drivingly connected to each other via a tension spring that biases the front drum and the rear drum in opposite directions when in tension. The front and rear drums are rotated by a concentric clutch that is nested in the rear drum. The clutch includes a drive member that is drivingly connected to the front drum via a first lost motion connection and drivingly connected to the rear drum via a second lost motion connection. The first drum has an arcuate slot forming part of the first lost motion connection, the rear drum has an arcuate slot forming part of the second lost motion connection, and the drive member has a tab that projects through both arcuate slots to form part of the first lost motion connection and part of the second lost motion connection.

The arrangement includes a latch and pull down mechanism for the rear closure of the vehicle to move the same between a partially open and a closed position and a control means including door jamb switches for energizing the pull down unit to raise the rear closure to its partially open position in response to opening movement of the door and to return the same to its fully closed position in response to closing of the door.
