摘要: An elevator control system to govern elevator movement to avoid or minimize passenger discomfort caused by pressure changes associated with an elevator's movement and to optimize elevator operation. In one exemplary embodiment, the system uses the passenger's natural relief which occurs while the elevator car is stopped to reduce the pressure difference experienced by the passengers' ears as a factor to optimally control the operation of the elevator. In another example, the system obtains input regarding the traveling speed and conditions of the elevator system. This system then simulates individual trips for passengers that includes monitoring the pressure changes being experienced by passengers throughout the elevator's travels in order to ensure that the pressure differential level for each passenger remains below a designated maximum comfortable and safe level. This system uses the parameters of a successful simulation to govern the actual operation of the elevators.

摘要: The invention provides a system and method for handling power outages in a multiple car elevator system in a building having a plurality of floors. The system includes an energy calculator connected to the elevators, and determines a total energy of the elevator system, a total energy required to handle a power outage, a plan to prepare for a power outage and a plan to handle a power outage. The system also includes a movement controller connected to the elevator(s) and the energy calculator. The movement controller receives the plan to prepare and the plan to handle from the energy calculator, and the movement controller executes the plan to prepare if there is no power outage and the movement controller executes the plan to handle if there is a power outage.

摘要: The isolation system and method comprise suspending an elevator platform from an upper portion of an elevator sling with upper tension members. In addition to being suspended from the sling by upper tension members, the elevator car platform may be secured to a lower portion of the sling from with lower tension members. The tension members preferably have an in-use frequency of vibration below the frequencies of the elevator system vibrations. In an alternative embodiment, upper vibration attenuating tension members may be used to suspend the elevator car platform and the platform may be secured to the lower portion of the sling with standard isolation mounts instead of lower tension members. The tension members employed by the present invention may be manufactured from cables containing aramid fibers, such as Kevlar® rope.

摘要: Versions of an elevator system are shown having a drive system including a driven sheave and a non-driven sheave. The driven sheave is configured to move an elevator car in a generally upward and downward direction. The non-driven sheave is configured to support the elevator car in the event of a loss of traction. The driven sheave is fixedly coupled to a drive shaft of the motor and the non-driven sheave is supported by the drive shaft but is freely rotatable relative to the drive shaft.

摘要: The present invention provides a support for an ostomy bag, the support extending the flange of the ostomy bag to reduce the risk of leakage. The support is formed of a hydrocolloid layer shaped to fit around a flange of the ostomy bag. The support can be fitted to the flange at any appropriate location enabling the flange to be supported at the point at which it is prone to failing on a particular wearer.

摘要: The invention concerns an apparatus for inspecting and calculating the residual strength of an aramid fiber cable driving an elevator to determine when such cable is in need of replacement. The apparatus includes a transmitter for introducing an acoustic wave that will travel along the aramid fiber cable and a receiver for receiving the acoustic wave after its has traversed a designated section of the cable. The transmitter and receiver provide signals indicating the times the wave was sent by the transmitter and thereafter received by the receiver. From these signals, a program in the system calculates the wave velocity and the modulus, and the residual strength of the aramid cable.
