    摘要: A process for upgrading a Fischer-Tropsch feedstock which comprises (a) recovering from a Fischer-Tropsch reactor a Fischer-Tropsch wax fraction and a Fischer-Tropsch condensate fraction, wherein the Fischer-Tropsch condensate fraction contains alcohols boiling below about 370° C.; (b) contacting the Fischer-Tropsch condensate fraction with a dehydration catalyst in a dehydration zone under dehydration conditions pre-selected to convert at least some of the alcohols present in said fraction into olefins and recovering a first intermediate effluent from said dehydration zone; (c) pyrolyzing the paraffins in the Fischer-Tropsch wax fraction in a thermal cracking zone under thermal cracking conditions pre-selected to crack the Fischer-Tropsch wax molecules to form olefins and collecting a second intermediate effluent from the thermal cracking zone; (d) passing the first and second intermediate effluents recovered from steps (b) and (c) to an oligomerization zone containing an oligomerization catalyst under oligomerization conditions to form an oligomerization mixture having a higher molecular weight than either of said first and second intermediate effluent; (e) hydrofinishing the oligomerization mixture in a hydrofinishing zone; and (f) recovering from the hydrofinishing zone a C10 plus hydrocarbon product, most preferably a lubricating base oil.

    摘要: We provide a process for making a base oil, comprising: a) selecting an olefin feed produced by thermal cracking of a waxy feed; b) oligomerizing the olefin feed in an ionic liquid oligomerization zone at a set of oligomerization conditions to form an oligomer; and c) alkylating the oligomer in the presence of an isoparaffin, in an ionic liquid alkylation zone, at a set of alkylation conditions to form an alkylated oligomeric product having a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of 6.9 mm2/s or greater, a VI of at least 134, and a Bromine Number of less than 4. We provide a process to make base oil from an olefin feed produced in a FCC unit. We also provide a process to make two or more viscosity grades of base oil from an olefin feed produced by thermal cracking of a waxy feed.

    摘要: A process for producing a diesel fuel having at least 70% C10+ paraffins, wherein the iso-paraffin to normal paraffin mole ratio is 5:1 and higher. This diesel fuel is produced by from a feed containing at least 40% C10+ normal paraffins and at least 20% C26+ normal paraffins. It is produced by contacting that feed in an isomerization/cracking reaction zone a feed with a catalyst comprising a SAPO-11 and platinum in the presence of hydrogen (hydrogen:feed ratio of from 1,000 to 10,000 SCFB) at a temperature of from 340° C. to 420° C., a pressure of from 100 psig to 600 psig, and a liquid hourly space velocity of from 0.1 hr−1 to 1.0 hr−1.

The light olefin fraction is contacted with a first oligomerization catalyst in a first oligomerization zone to produce a first product. Both the medium olefin fraction and the first product are contacted with a second oligomerization catalyst in a second oligomerization zone to produce a second product. The second product is separated into a light byproduct fraction and a heavy product fraction that includes hydrocarbons in the lube base stock range.

    摘要: A process for producing a lubricant bright stock from a very heavy feed obtained from a petroleum crude is disclosed. The bright stock produced by the present process has a reduced cloud point and better oxidation stability relative to bright stocks prepared by conventional methods. The process comprises the steps of providing a petroleum residuum-derived stream; separating the residuum-derived stream at a distillation cut point in the range of 1150° F. to 1300° F., into a heavy fraction and at least one light fraction; hydrocracking the at least one light fraction under conditions to reduce the concentration of sulfur and nitrogen to suitable levels for hydroisomerization dewaxing; and dewaxing at least a portion of the hydrocracked stream under hydroisomerization conditions to produce a lubricant bright stock.
