    摘要: A process for drying resinous materials, comprising: delivering, by way of a plurality of resin channels, resin fluid comprising polymer and solvent into at least first and second steam channels (101) having within a flow of steam, the first and second steam channels (101) each receiving resin fluid from a plurality of resin channels, the first and second steam channels each (101) being received by a stage 1 manifold (121), the steam and resin being delivered under conditions so as to separate at least some of the solvent from the resin fluid; and collecting at least some of the polymer from the resin fluid.

The process produces a polycarbonate copolymer having improved hydrolytic stability.

    摘要: A poly(ester-carbonate) copolymer comprises carbonate units of the formula (I); and ester units of the formula (II) wherein: T is a C2-20 alkylene, a C6-20 cycloalkylene, or a C6-20 arylene; and R1 and J are each independently (a) a bisphenol A divalent group and (b) a C16 or higher divalent group (b), wherein the C16 or higher divalent group is present in an amount of 40 to 50 mol %; the ester units are present in an amount of 40 to 60 mol %; the poly(ester-carbonate) copolymer has a weight average molecular weight of 18,000 to 24,000 Daltons; and a sample of the composition has a glass transition temperature of 210° C. to 235° C. as determined by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) as per ASTM D3418 with a 20° C./min heating rate; and a melt viscosity of less than 1050 Pa-s at 644 sec-1 and 350° C., determined according to ISO 11443.

    摘要: A poly(ester-carbonate) copolymer comprises carbonate units of the formula (I); and ester units of the formula (II) wherein: T is a C2-20 alkylene, a C6-20 cycloalkylene, or a C6-20 arylene; and R1 and J are each independently a bisphenol A divalent group and a phthalimidine divalent group, provided that the phthalimidine divalent group is present in an amount of 40 to 50 mol % based on the total moles of the bisphenol A divalent groups and the C 1/2 divalent group, and the ester units are present in an amount of 40 to 60 mol % based on the sum of the moles of the carbonate units and the ester units; and wherein the poly(ester-carbonate) copolymer has a weight average molecular weight of 18,000 to 24,000 Daltons; and the composition has a Tg of 210 to 235° C. and a melt viscosity of less than 1050 Pa-s at 644 sec−1 and 350° C.
