摘要: A display device and a method of compensating a luminance of the display device enhance display quality and reducing storage capacity of a memory, the display device including: a display panel including a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix form; a storage unit storing a gray level compensation value of a reference pixel defined by at least one pixel; a compensation circuit receiving a gray level datum and generating a compensated gray level datum by applying the gray level compensation value; and a data driving circuit receiving the compensated gray level datum to generate a data voltage and outputting the data voltage to the display panel. The display panel includes a first compensation area and a second compensation area. The reference pixel in the first compensation area is defined by one pixel and the reference pixel in the second compensation area is defined by m×n pixels, m and n being natural numbers greater than 1.

摘要: A test apparatus includes: a compensation coefficient calculator configured to calculate a main compensation coefficient for a main gradation and a sub compensation coefficient for a sub gradation based on a detected image signal; a primary predictor configured to determine a representative value of each of a plurality of blocks of a display panel based on the detected image signal, and output a prediction compensation coefficient for the sub gradation based on the main compensation coefficient and the representative value corresponding to each of the plurality of blocks; a secondary predictor configured to determine a flag based on the sub compensation coefficient and the prediction compensation coefficient; and a controller configured to output the main compensation coefficient, the representative value, and the flag stored in a memory as compensation data.

摘要: A method of generating information to control display of images providing a display device with align pattern data to which box data having a maximum reference gray level is added, obtaining a first capture image generated based on the align pattern data to which the box data is added, providing the display device with one or more full pattern data respectively having one or more reference gray levels lower than the maximum reference gray level, and obtaining one or more second capture images generated based on the one or more full pattern data. The method also includes generating compensation data including compensation values at the one or more reference gray levels and the maximum reference gray level. The compensation data may be generated based on the one or more second capture images and a portion of the first capture image corresponding to the box data.

摘要: Degradation compensator includes a compressor which generates a block-level compression stress matrix (“BCSM”) representing a degradation level of a block included in a frame by R, G, and B input signals of the block, an updater update a frame-level accumulated compression stress matrix (“FACSM”) by adding the BCSM, an error corrector which executes error-correction encoding to elements of a block-level accumulated compression stress matrix (“BACSM”) included in the FACSM, writes encoded elements as a storage data of a non-volatile memory device when a power supply is stopped, executes error-correction decoding to the storage data and writes the decoded storage data as the FACSM of the volatile memory when the power supply is started, a restorer which generates a block-level accumulated stress matrix (“BASM”), and an internal compensator which generates compensated R, G, and B output signals.

摘要: A tiled display device includes a plurality of display panels coupled to each other, where each of the plurality of display panels includes an edge region adjacent to a boundary line between the plurality of display panels, and a panel driver which multiplies input gray levels of input image data for the plurality of display panels by an adaptive gain, generates boundary compensated image data by adding boundary compensation gray levels to the input gray levels multiplied by the adaptive gain for the edge region, and drives the plurality of display panels based on the boundary compensated image data. The adaptive gain is gradually decreased over a plurality of frame periods in a case where a sum of each of the input gray levels for the edge region and a corresponding one of the boundary compensation gray levels exceeds a maximum gray level.

摘要: A method of compensating for non-uniform luminance of a display panel including first pixels in a center region and second pixels in a non-center region, the method including displaying a for-compensation image, generating a luminance image by capturing an image of an entire region of the display panel, extracting luminance values of the first pixels from the luminance image by analyzing the luminance image, calculating and storing compensation factors for the first pixels based on the luminance values thereof, calculating compensation factors for the second pixels by performing an interpolation between a reference compensation factor determined for an edge of the non-center region and compensation factors for edge pixels on an edge of the center region when a displaying operation is performed, and compensating image data using the compensation factors for the first pixels and the second pixels when the displaying operation is performed on the display panel.
