    Abstract: The invention relates to the allocation of radio resources by a transmitting user equipment to perform a plurality of direct SL transmissions to one or more receiving user equipments. The allocation of radio resources within a SC period is restricted, for the SC period, by a maximum number of SL processes with which a transmitting user equipment is configured. A plurality of SL grants is acquired. Among the acquired SL grants a number of those SL grants is selected that have most recently been acquired before the start of the subsequent SC period. A plurality of SL processes is associated such that each of the plurality of SL process is associated with a different one of the selected number of SL grants. For each of the plurality of the SL processes, the radio resources are allocated. Each of the plurality of SL transmissions comprises at least one SCI transmission and at least one data transmission over the SL interface.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for efficiently discarding data packets destined to a mobile station connected to both a master base station and a secondary base station. The master base station configures a secondary discard function in a lower layer of the secondary base station, based on the master discard function in the higher layer of the master base station. The master base station forwards the data packet from the higher layer to the lower of the secondary base station. The secondary discard function of the lower layer at the secondary base station discards the received data packet upon expiry of the secondary timer started by the lower layer upon reception of the data packet from the higher layer at the master base station.

    Abstract: The disclosure relates to methods for establishing a secure communication link between a mobile station and a secondary base station in a mobile communication system. The disclosure is also providing mobile communication system for performing these methods, and computer readable media the instructions of which cause the mobile communication system to perform the methods described herein. Specifically, the disclosure suggests that in response to the detected or signaled potential security breach, the master base station increments a freshness counter for re-initializing the communication between the mobile station and the secondary base station; and the mobile station and the secondary base station re-initialize the communication there between. The re-initialization is performed under the control of the master base station and further includes deriving a same security key based on said incremented freshness counter, and establishing the secure communication link utilizing the same, derived security key.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to transmitting user equipment for transmitting data to a receiving user equipment over a direct link connection in a communication system. The transmitting user equipment is adapted to request resources for discovery transmission in the communication system and comprises a generating unit configured to generate a resource request message for allocation of resources for discovery transmission. The resource request message includes information on the amount of data to be transmitted and on discovery indication. The transmitting user equipment may further include a transmitting unit configured to transmit to a base station the generated resource request message, and a receiving unit adapted to receive from the base station a resource configuration message allocating the requested resources for discovery transmission.
