摘要: In a retractor with a clamping mechanism, when a tension exceeding a predetermined value acting on a webbing in a vehicle emergency, a guide member moves in the webbing draw-out direction while plastically deforming a holding device, with the movement of a clamp member in the webbing draw-out direction. After the removal of the guide member, the guide member moves in the webbing draw-out direction while plastically deforming the holding device for preventing its movement. At the same time, the webbing is tightened on the winding shaft. Further, in an initial stage of holding the webbing by the clamping mechanism, the clamp member holds the webbing with all of clamp teeth formed on the clamp member, thereby preventing the draw-out of the webbing. When a tension acting on the webbing after the webbing is held exceeds a predetermined value, plastic deformation of the guide member for guiding the clamp member starts. The clamp member which holds the webbing moves along the webbing. Through the movement of these member, kinetic energy transferred from the occupant to the webbing is absorbed to thereby hold back an increase of the tensile force acting on the webbing.

摘要: The present invention is a side impact air bag apparatus which is incorporated into a vehicle seat and is mounted to an outer side of a side portion of a seat back frame of the vehicle seat, comprising: an air bag body which is provided in the air bag apparatus and which is rectangular when viewed in the transverse direction of the vehicle in an unfolded state, an unfolding direction distal end lower portion of the air bag body, which is provided at a distal end of the air bag body in the unfolding direction of the air bag body and at a lower side portion of the distal end portion, being folded in a diagonally upward direction of the vehicle, and thereafter, the air bag body being folded from the distal end side of the air bag body in the unfolding direction of the air bag body to a proximal end side of the air bag body in the unfolding direction of the air bag body.

摘要: An occupant protection device which causes less discomfort to an occupant after danger is avoided. When danger is detected (estimated collision time t is less than t1), a seat is adjusted to set the inclination angle of a seatback within a predetermined appropriate range. After that, when the danger is avoided, the inclination angle of the seatback is adjusted a predetermined amount so that the occupant is separated from a seat belt. This eliminates situations in which the tension of the seat belt is kept increased even after the danger is avoided, and as a result, discomfort to the occupant is suppressed.

摘要: A webbing for restraining a vehicle occupant, having a webbing length increasing device which is folded over and sewn together along a transverse direction of the webbing, and when a load applied between a vehicle occupant and the webbing length increasing device exceeds a sewing strength of the webbing length increasing device, stitching of the webbing length increasing device comes undone, the webbing length increasing device having at least a first sewn-together portion and a second sewn-together portion, the second sewn-together portion being provided at a webbing fold tip end side of the first sewn-together portion and having a sewing strength which is smaller than a sewing strength of the first sewn-together portion. Load applied between the vehicle occupant and the webbing, when a length of the webbing is increased at a time of sudden deceleration of a vehicle, is reduced gradually.
