摘要： A dual line ceramic glow plug uses a ceramic heater as an incandescent body which protrudes from the bottom of a metal fitting and which is made of an incandescent wire of a refractory metal embedded in a sintered ceramic powder. The bare ends of the incandescent wire terminate in a pair of metal terminal fittings secured to the end of the ceramic heater within the metal fitting. Electrical leads protruding from the terminal fittings are welded to a pair of terminal electrodes projecting outwardly from the top of the metal fitting. The ceramic heater is held in position by a metal sheath that is slipped over and bonded to the middle portion of said heater. The middle portion of the ceramic heater is brazed to the inner surface of the metal sheath in electrically insulated relation thereto with an intervening glass layer formed on the outer surface of the ceramic heater.

摘要： A fuel injector has a lift sensor in the form of a cylindrical piezoelectric ceramic member having metal film electrodes on each side thereof and which is sandwiched between an insulated terminal element having a flat surface abutting one side of the piezoelectric element and a flat ground plate formed with projections which projections engage the wall of a bore in which the piezoelectric element is disposed so as to both hold the element in place and establish an electrical connection between the housing in which the bore is formed and the second side of the piezoelectric element. A spacing shim having a flat surface abutting the ground plate engages one end of a spring which biases the valve element of the fuel injector toward a closed position.

摘要： An electrical motor controls the movement of a slider threaded over a threaded shaft of the motor. A sensor detects the position of the slider along the threaded shaft to control the movement of the motor which is also controlled by the operational state of the engine. The slider controls the position of a control sleeve fitted slidably over a fuel distributing plunger relative to the plunger so that the sleeve opens and closes a spill port provided in the side surface of the plunger in order to control the amount of fuel supplied to the engine cylinders.

摘要： A governor sleeve is axially displaceable on a stationary governor shaft and has an inner space which is adjoined by the governor shaft and communicated with the inner chamber of a pump housing charged with fuel. The inner space varies in volume drawing thereinto and discharging therefrom fuel in response to axial displacement of the governor sleeve. There is provided valve and channel means which establishes restricted communication between the inner space and the inner chamber upon displacement of the governor sleeve in the direction to produce contraction of the inner space and substantially unrestricted communication between same upon displacement of the governor sleeve in the opposite direction to produce expansion of the inner chamber in order to prevent an acceleration jerk and smoky exhaust.

摘要： A vent valve allows a combustion chamber arranged to burn a swirling lean mixture to communicate with either an intake manifold or exhaust manifold through a vent port by-passing the intake or exhaust valve, for a short period just before ignition to discharge a fraction of the mixture from the combustion chamber. The discharge weakens the turburent flow of the mixture and results in a decreased combustion temperature, which is advantageous for suppression of NOx formation and prevention of combustion noise generation.
