    Abstract: A display apparatus is disclosed. The display apparatus includes: a backlight; a main circuit; a power supply configured to output a first power to drive the backlight and a second power to drive the main circuit; a first battery configured to be charged by the first power and supply power to the backlight; a second battery which is connected to the first battery in series, and configured to be charged by the first power and supply power to the backlight and the main circuit; and a control circuit configured to control the first battery and the second battery to be charged with the first power for a first time period, and drive the backlight with first battery power of the first battery and second battery power of the second battery for a second time period.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides power supply apparatuses and controlling methods thereof. In some embodiments, a power supply apparatus includes a power factor correction (PFC) circuit, and a control circuit configured to control the PFC circuit. The PFC circuit includes a power inputter configured to receive alternating current voltage to be rectified, an inductor having an end coupled to an end of the power inputter, a first switching element configured to be turned on and off according to a first control signal, a second switching element configured to be turned on and off according to a second control signal, and an outputter configured to output a direct current voltage through an output capacitor. The control circuit is further configured to respectively apply the first and second control signals to the first and second switching elements such that the first and the second switching elements are alternately turned on.

    Abstract: An electronic apparatus is provided. The electronic apparatus includes: a main circuit; and a power supply circuit configured to receive external power from an external power supply and supply operating power to the main circuit. The power supply circuit includes: a converter; and a lightning protection circuit that includes: a varistor configured to have a first rated voltage corresponding to a breakdown voltage of a device of the converter; and a surge arrester connected in series to the varistor and configured to have a second rated voltage, and based on the external power being higher than the first rated voltage of the varistor, the varistor is clamped so that a voltage applied to the converter does not exceed the first rated voltage, and based on a voltage applied to the surge arrester being equal to or higher than the second rated voltage, the surge arrester is short-circuited.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a display apparatus capable of preventing and/or reducing overheating of driving switches due to a malfunction during varying of a driving voltage. The display apparatus includes: a light emitting diode; a power supply configured to apply a driving voltage to the light emitting diode; a driving switch configured to control the driving current of the light emitting diode; a voltage sensor configured to detect the driving voltage; and a driving controller configured to control the driving switch so that the driving current of the light emitting diode follows a current reference. The driving controller may be configured, based on the driving voltage detected by the voltage sensor being greater than a predetermined voltage, to decrease the current reference to decrease the driving current of the light emitting diode.
