Abstract: According to an embodiment, an electronic device may include an illuminance sensor including a first modulator obtaining a first signal for first illuminance values during a first integration time and a second modulator obtaining a second signal for second illuminance values during a second integration time, and a processor. The processor may be configured to calculate the first illuminance values and the second illuminance values based on the first and second signals, determine that an ambient light source is a flickering light source based on the second illuminance values, if obtaining display parameter information associated with an image output through the display, compensate for the first illuminance values based on the display parameter information and adjust a brightness value of the display based on the compensated first illuminance values, and if failing to obtain the display parameter information, adjust the brightness value of the display based on the second illuminance values.

Abstract: A method and a device are provided. The device includes a light-measuring sensor, a display, a memory, and at least one processor operatively connected to the light-measuring sensor, the display, and the memory, wherein the at least one processor is configured to analyze the frequency of an external light source, obtain an operation period of the display, obtain a ratio of an off period of time of the display on the basis of the operation period, and calculate illuminance by using different algorithms on the basis of the relationship between the frequency of the external light source and the operation period and the ratio of the off period of time of the display.

Abstract: A portable electronic device includes a foldable housing; a display; an illuminance sensor; a state detection sensor; a memory; and a processor. Based on data received from the state detection sensor, the portable electronic device is recognized to be in the folded state. Responsive to the portable electronic device being in a calibration trigger state which includes the folded state, a first image is displayed in a sensor area of a first display area located on the illuminance sensor, and a second image is displayed in an area of the second display area facing the sensor area. An illuminance value is calculated based on data received from the illuminance sensor while the first image and the second image are displayed, and then compared to a reference value stored in the memory to calculate a calibration value for calibrating measured illuminance values of the illuminance sensor.

Abstract: A foldable electronic device is provided. The foldable electronic device includes a foldable housing that can be fold/unfolded with respect to a folding shaft, a display that is visible through one surface of the foldable housing, a photosensor which is arranged inside the foldable housing and which includes a light-receiving unit for measuring the intensity of light emitted at the electronic device, and at least one processor operationally connected to the photosensor and the display, wherein the at least one processor is configured to acquire an illuminance value by using the photosensor, acquire data related to the incident angle of the light, emitted on the electronic device, by using the photosensor, correct the illuminance value based on the data related to the incident angle of the light, determine the brightness of a first part of the display based on the corrected illuminance value, and determine the brightness of a second part of the display based on the illuminance value and the angle formed by the foldable housing.

The optical sensor module is disposed in the inner space at least partially overlapping the display panel, and includes a flexible printed circuit board (FPCB), a light emitting structure disposed on the FPCB at least partially overlapping the first non-display area when the display panel is viewed from above, and a light receiving structure disposed on the FPCB at least partially overlapping the display area when the display panel is viewed from above. The display area has a first transmittance, and the first non-display area has a second transmittance greater than the first transmittance.

Abstract: Disclosed is an electronic device including a processor configured to set a wake-up luminance of a display, based on a wake-up illuminance, to set, upon detecting an illuminance change through the illuminance sensor, a first target luminance of the display by using a first threshold illuminance value at a time point of detecting the illuminance change, to identify whether a flag setting related to an update of a threshold illuminance value is changed, while changing a luminance of the display based on the first target luminance, to determine the first target luminance as a final luminance of the display when there is no change in the flag setting, to update the first threshold illuminance value to a second threshold illuminance value when there is a change in the flag setting, and to change a target luminance of the display from the first target luminance to a second target luminance by using the second threshold illuminance value.

The foldable mobile electronic device includes a processor configured to recognize, based on the data received from the first sensor, a change in a state of the foldable mobile electronic device from the folded state to a partially folded state before reaching an unfolded state, to identify a first illuminance by using the data received from the second sensor, based on the recognized state change, to set a first luminance corresponding to the first illuminance as a brightness of the display, to when an angle identified after the state change falls within a predetermined first angle range or when a specific time has not elapsed after the state change, perform a real-time adjustment operation on the brightness of the display, based on a second illuminance identified using the second sensor, and to when the angle identified after the state change is outside the first angle range or when the specific time has elapsed after the state change, perform a hysteresis adjustment operation on the brightness of the display, based on the first illuminance.
