Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium that automatically performs actions in an aquaculture environment based on light sensed by underwater cameras. One of the methods includes obtaining images of a surface of water captured by a camera that faces upwards from a depth towards the surface of the water within an enclosure that encloses aquatic livestock. An ambient light metric is determined at the depth from the images of the surface of the water. A determination is made as to whether the camera satisfies one or more depth criteria. Based on determining that the depth of the camera satisfies the one or more depth criteria, it is determined that, based on the ambient light metric at the depth, one or more action criteria are satisfied, then initiating performance of an action to be performed for the aquatic livestock.

Abstract: A system, apparatus and method of improved measurement of the SPF factor of sunscreen compositions. In one embodiment, a method of measuring the protection of a sunscreen composition includes exposing skin to a known intensity of light, measuring the amount of remitted light from the skin, applying sunscreen to the skin, exposing the skin to which the sunscreen has been applied the known intensity of emitted light of the spectrum of light from which the sunscreen is intended to protect the skin, measuring the amount of light remitted from the skin, and calculating a UltraViolet-A Protection Factor (UVA-PF) of the sunscreen by comparing the amount of light remitted from the skin with the sunscreen to the amount of light remitted from the skin without the sunscreen.

Abstract: A sensor circuit comprising a sensor input includes a delta-sigma analogue to digital converter. The delta-sigma analogue to digital converter includes a switched capacitor, a common mode voltage source, a reference voltage source, and a switch network. The switch network, in a first clock phase, connects the switched capacitor to charge it to either a sum or difference voltage, and in a second clock phase connects the switched capacitor to transfer charge into a summing junction. A controller controls the switch network responsive to a comparator output to selectively connect the switched capacitor to one of the common mode voltage and the reference voltage in the first clock phase. Implementations of the sensor circuit transfer charge every clock cycle and have low noise and high sensitivity.

Abstract: Provided are a light intensity detection circuit, a light intensity detection method and an light intensity detection apparatus. The light intensity detection circuit includes a photoelectric conversion sub-circuit, a source follower sub-circuit, a reset sub-circuit, a read sub-circuit and a sense sub-circuit. The photoelectric conversion sub-circuit generates a corresponding electrical signal according to an incident light signal, and outputs it to a first node; the source follower sub-circuit generates a corresponding voltage signal or current signal according to the electrical signal of the first node and outputs it to a second node; the read sub-circuit reads the voltage signal or current signal of the second node to determine an incident light intensity; the reset sub-circuit provides a voltage at a offset voltage terminal to the first node.

The device may further include control circuitry configured to activate the light source during a first period, generate a first light detector signal indicating a first amount of light detected by the light detector during the first period, deactivate the light source during a second period, generate a second light detector signal indicating a second amount of light detected by the light detector during the second period, generate a physiological metric based at least in part on the first light detector signal and the second light detector signal, and modify the configurable brightness level setting based on the second light detector signal.

Abstract: Systems and methods for calibrating, operating, and setting the magnitude of the power of light provided by a laser diode in a conducted electrical weapon (“CEW”). The light of the laser diode assists in targeting by providing a visible indication of the projected point of impact of the tethered electrode of the CEW. The calibration process enables laser diode of a CEW to operate within regional guidelines of the maximum output power of light permitted by a laser. The method further permits the magnitude of the power of the light provided by a laser diode to be set and operated in changing environmental conditions in the field.

Abstract: A method to measure and report electromagnetic radiation power includes receiving electromagnetic radiation and generating an electrical signal having a magnitude based on the power of the electromagnetic radiation. An adjustable gain may be applied to the electrical signal to generate an amplified electrical signal that may be sampled to generate a digital sample. The adjustable gain may be controlled based on the value of the digital sample and the digital sample may be associated with a gain value. One or more calibration factors may be selected based on the gain value associated with the digital sample and the selected calibration factor(s) may be used to calculate the power of the electromagnetic radiation.
