Abstract: An electronic apparatus is provided. The electronic apparatus includes a communicator configured to perform communication with an external apparatus, a user interface configured to receive a user command, and a processor configured to, when an upload command to upload at least one content to the external apparatus is input, compute a time required to upload the at least one content to the external apparatus based on at least one parameter, determine whether an upload condition for uploading the at least one content satisfies a predetermined condition based on the computed time, control a time point for uploading the at least one content based on a result of the determination.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to deployment of additional workload in the NFV-MANO to efficiently utilize resources during a lean workload period of Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) associated with an intelligent cloud platform. The method comprises measuring, over a time period, a current resource utilization level of one or more rendered VNFs. Thereafter, forecasting future resource utilization for the time period based on predictive analysis criteria and the current resource utilization level of the one or more VNFs. The method further comprises a machine learning based inference for determining whether the forecast future resource utilization for said time period is less than a determined optimal resource utilization threshold value of the one or more VNFs. Thereafter, resources of the one or more VNFs to one or more additional workloads are allocated based on the determination of the future resource utilization.

Abstract: A method for managing handover procedure in a radio access network (RAN) includes initiating, by a source base station, a handover procedure for a first user equipment with a target base station, wherein the first user equipment is connected to the source base station; identifying, by the source base station, a second user equipment that functions as a relay device, for relaying data related to the first user equipment from the source base station to the first user equipment during the handover procedure; establishing, by the source base station, a first connection between the identified second user equipment and the first user equipment; transmitting, by the source base station, buffered data corresponding to the first user equipment, to the target base station; transmitting, by the source base station, at least one block of data from the buffered data to the first user equipment, via the second user equipment, during the handover procedure for the first user equipment from the source base station to the target base station; and disconnecting, by the source base station, the established first connection between the second user equipment and the first user equipment, upon receiving a sequence number (SN) status request message from the target base station.

Abstract: A system and method for call selection and migration in a NG-CU over NGRAN is disclosed. The system and method comprises a CP VNFC assigning a call initiated by a user to a source user plane VNFC. A management VNFC detects an overload traffic condition upon receiving the assigned call by the source user plane VNFC from the CP VNFC. The source user plane VNFC selects the call to be migrated with a higher migration preference value to another VNFC and signals CP VNFC to initiate call migration. The CP VNFC then migrates the selected call through at least one GTP tunnel to a target user plane VNFC. The source user plane VNFC then forwards the target user plane VNFC a request to handle complete trafficking of the migrated call.

Abstract: Provided is a method for optimizing radio resource for Ultra-Reliable Low Latency Communication services in a Dual Connectivity technology. The method includes: receiving DownLink (DL) data by a UE using a first Radio Access Technology (RAT) from a base station; transmitting a first Acknowledgement (ACK) signal using the first RAT to the base station based on the DL data being successfully received; updating a Mapping Table Sequence Number of the DL data in a Mapping Table by the UE, based on the DL data being successfully received by the UE using the first RAT; checking the Mapping Table by the UE upon detecting an error in the received DL data using a second RAT; and sending a second ACK signal to the base station using the second RAT of the UE based on the Mapping Table Sequence Number of the DL data being found in the Mapping Table.

Abstract: Embodiments herein provide a TCP optimizer (TO) and method for controlling TCP packets due to closure of a TCP connection for power saving. The method includes monitoring TCP closures, for controlling the TCP packets. The TO can be configured to determine a pattern of TCP packets based on a plurality of parameters associated with a TCP connection. Further, the TO can be configured to detect that the pattern corresponds to a TCP closure retransmission or TCP zero window closure category based on a historic pattern of TCP packets. Further, the TO can be configured to terminate the TCP connection. The proposed method allows controlling TCP packets to save power in a mobile device thus improving the life time of a battery of the mobile device.

The method includes measuring network resource utilization levels for a plurality of virtual network functions (VNFs) over a time period based on at least one network parameter, determining a behavioral pattern of the network resource utilization levels based on a predictive analysis of the measured network resource utilization levels, forecasting a lean workload time interval of the network resource utilization levels based on the determined behavioral pattern and current network resource utilization levels of the plurality of VNFs, and adjusting central processing unit (CPU) core frequencies of a network server based on the forecasted lean workload time interval.
