Abstract: A cell connection unit (CCU) for connecting a plurality of aligned battery cells of a battery module and a battery module including the CCU, the CCU including a plurality of busbars, each busbar of the plurality of busbars being connected to cell terminals of at least two battery cells of the plurality of aligned battery cells; and a plurality of carrier rails, at least some carrier rails of the plurality of carrier rails being mechanically connected to at least three busbars of the plurality of busbars, wherein the at least some carrier rails of the plurality of carrier rails include a first reception region connected to at least one busbar of the at least three busbars of the plurality of busbars, and a separate second reception region connected to two busbars of the at least three busbars of the plurality of busbars and electrically insulating the two busbars from each other.

Abstract: A battery system includes: a plurality of monolithic cell trays configured to accommodate a plurality of aligned battery cells; a plurality of battery cell retainers configured to retain the battery cells within the cell tray by being connected with the battery cell and the cell tray in each cell tray; a cap-type battery system carrier configured to accommodate the plurality of cell trays; a plurality of tray fasteners provided in each cell tray to mount the cell tray to the battery system carrier by being connected with the cell tray and the battery system carrier; and a cooling channel provided in the battery system carrier to cool the battery cells. Each cell tray includes an opening that exposes the plurality of battery cells, and the cooling channel may be provided in the battery system carrier opposite to the opening of each cell tray.

Abstract: A removable battery component for receiving a battery submodule and being mechanically and electrically connectable to other removable battery component carriers and/or a carrier frame is provided. The removable battery component carrier includes a bottom plate, a pair of side walls perpendicular to the bottom plate and extending along two facing corners of the bottom plate, a pair of end plates perpendicular to the bottom plate and the side wall, extending along two facing corners of the bottom plate, and mechanically connected to the side walls and/or the bottom plate to fix the plurality of battery cells together. A cell cover extends parallel to the bottom plate to form a receiving space of the battery submodule along with the bottom plate, the side wall, and the end plate.

Abstract: A removable battery component carrier (30,60) for accommodating a battery submodule (40,64) and configured to be mechanically and electrically connected to other removable battery component carriers (30,60) and/or to a carrier frame is provided. The removable battery component carrier (30,60) comprises a bottom plate (32,62), a pair of side walls (31) extending upward from the bottom plate (32,62) along two longitudinal edges of the bottom plate (32,62), a pair of end plates (33) extending upwards from the bottom plate (32,62) along two transversal edges of the bottom plate (32,62). The end plates (33) are mechanically coupled to the side walls (31) and/or to the bottom plate (32,62) to fix battery cells (1,1′) together. A cell cover (34,66) extends parallel to the bottom plate (32,62) so that the cell cover, the bottom plate, the side walls, and the end plates form an accommodating space for the battery submodule (40,64).
