摘要: In the method according to the invention cold or unheated hardened glass and/or glass-ceramic parts are bonded together with a metallic ductile joining material, preferably silver, copper, aluminum or an alloy of those metals, to form a brittle article. The parts to be joined in an initial unheated state are placed with the metallic ductile joining material between them in a high frequency alternating field with frequencies preferably from 100 to 500 kHz. Then the joining material is inductively heated locally to melt it by means of the alternating field and the parts are pressed together to form a sufficiently strong bond between the parts.

摘要: The invention relates to novel uses of glass ceramics, wherein glass ceramics, in particular, in the form of a glass ceramic tube, are used. Said glass ceramics contain 0—less than 4 wt % P205 and 0 less than 8 wt-% CaO. The tubes can be used in multiple areas of application and/or in multiple types of lamps, for example in general lighting or car lights and in heat radiators, such as halogen lamps or incandescent lamps, and/or in high pressure discharge lamps or low pressure discharge lamps. The glass ceramics, can also, in particular, be minimised in order to form known backlighting in conjunction with background lighting of flat screens. Said type of glass ceramics have excellent spectral transmission in the visible wave length rang and are solarisation stable and absorb strong UV light.

Preferably the additive ingredient is preferably samarium oxide (Sm2O3). A method of cutting through a flat glass sheet whose composition contains at least one additive ingredient that absorbs a significant amount of radiation at a wavelength of 1.064 μm, which includes cutting the flat glass sheet with the focused radiation of a Nd:YAG laser, is also part of the present invention.
