    Abstract: A system and method for interacting with content, such as web-based markup content, using visual and voice browsers. A first browser facilitates communication in a first mode (e.g., an HTML browser that facilitates visual/tactile interaction with HTML content), and a second browser facilitates communication in a second mode (e.g., a VXML browser that facilitates audio interaction with VXML content). HTML and VXML content is created that: (1) indicates a correspondence between HTML and VXML pages that represent the same underlying content; and (2) contains specialized tags that indicate information to be send from one browser to the other to synchronize each browser to equivalent parts of the content. The HTML browser is adapted to use relative links as signals that information is to be sent to the VXML browser, and the platform on which the VXML browser runs is adapted to recognize a “hit” on its own port 80 as a signal that information is to be sent to the HTML browser.

    Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention provides transmitter having a phase locked loop that has a dynamically controllable loop bandwidth. A transmit modulator is coupled to the PLL for performing vector modulation in response to transmission symbols. Each transmission symbol comprises an amplitude signal and a phase signal. A controller is coupled to the PLL and to the transmit modulator and is operable to detect when a criteria of the transmission symbols crosses a threshold and to adjust loop bandwidth in response to crossing the threshold. The criteria of the transmission symbols may be a function of the amplitude signal or a function of the phase signal, and may be the amplitude signal, a first derivative of the amplitude signal, a second derivative of the amplitude signal, a square of the amplitude signal, a derivative of the amplitude signal squared, the phase signal, or a derivative of the phase signal.

    Abstract: A novel and useful digitally controlled injection-locked RF oscillator with an auxiliary loop. The oscillator is injection locked to a time delayed version of its own resonating voltage (or its second harmonic) and its frequency is modulated by manipulating the phase and amplitude of injected current. The oscillator achieves a narrow modulation tuning range and fine step size of an LC tank based digitally controlled oscillator (DCO). The DCO first gets tuned to its center frequency by means of a conventional switched capacitor array. Frequency modulation is then achieved via a novel method of digitally controlling the phase and amplitude of injected current into the LC tank generated from its own resonating voltage. A very linear deviation from the center frequency is achieved with a much lower gain resulting in a very fine resolution DCO step size and high linearity without needing to resort to oversampled noise shaped dithering.

    Abstract: A novel and useful apparatus for and method of predistortion calibration and built-in self testing (BIST) of a nonlinear digitally-controlled radio frequency (RF) power amplifier (DPA) using subharmonic mixing. The RF power amplifier output is temporarily coupled into the frequency reference (FREF) input and the phase error samples generated in the phase locked loop (PLL) are then observed and analyzed. The digital predistortion and BIST mechanisms process the phase error samples to calibrate and test the DPA in the transmitter of the Digital RF Processor (DRP). The invention enables the characterization of nonlinearities, the configuration of internal predistortion, as well as the testing of the transmitter's analogRF circuitry, thereby eliminating commonly employed RF performance testing using high-cost test equipment and associated extended test times.
