    摘要: A memory card including a printed circuit board having an electronic circuit device mounted thereto and at least one I/O pad disposed thereon. The printed circuit board and the electronic circuit device are at least partially encapsulated or covered by an encapsulant material which hardens into a body of the memory card, such body generally defining the outer appearance of the memory card. The I/O pads of the printed circuit board are exposed in the body. The body is formed to include one or more chamfers. Such chamfer(s) are sized and configured to minimize potential damage to the connection terminals or host socket of a device during the process of interfacing the memory card thereto.

The character input method for a portable device includes a step of locating a pointer at a predetermined pointer start area on the display screen; a step of sensing the movement of an object which moves being in contact with an optical interface unit of the portable device; a step of inputting a character by moving the pointer from the pointer start area according to the sensed movement; and a step of returning the pointer to the pointer start area according to the input of the character. According to the present invention, an optical interface unit is installed in a portable device supporting character input and a character is input by moving a pointer via sensing the movement of an object in contact with the optical interface unit, thereby providing a character input method for a portable device and the portable device, which embody an optimized character input type maximizing convenience of users.

    摘要: There are provided an optical pointing device and a personal portable device employing the same, the optical pointing device in which a horizontal optical path is formed, thereby minimizing the thickness of an optical system and providing a sufficient depth of a focus. The optical pointing device includes a cover glass directly contacting an object, a light source unit emitting light to the cover glass, and a light receiving unit reflecting the light reflected by the object in a predetermined direction via the cover glass and condensing the light in the predetermined direction, and picking up an image of the light. According to the present invention, pointing is possible by using the surface of a finger and a horizontal optical path is formed such that the thickness of an optical system is minimized, and a sufficient depth of a focus is provided, thereby keeping a beautiful exterior of an ultra slim personal portable device and performing convenient pointing.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a method of changing a frequency assignment (FA) status in an improved broadband wireless access system where terminals and base stations communicate with each other by using a plurality of FAs. The base station changes the status of one of secondary FA into the status of the pFA in order to adjust a load of the primary FA, and communicates with the terminal through the pFA of which status is changed. When a response is received from the terminal, the base station changes the status of the pFA and communicates with the pFA of the terminal through a new pFA. The status of a previous pFA between the base station and the terminal is changed into the status of the sFA, and a previous sFA is changed into the pFA, so that communication is performed through new FAs.

    摘要: Provided is a sub-harmonic frequency mixer having a structure in which two terminals of transistors receiving a Radio Frequency (RF) signal and a Local Oscillation (LO) signal are coupled. The frequency mixer is composed of a single-level structure of transistors and thus can be driven at a lower supply voltage compared to a common frequency mixer. A direct-conversion receiver employing such a frequency mixer needs an RF signal and an LO signal sources of single-phase. Therefore, the direct-conversion receiver has an architecture that simplifies a whole RF transceiver circuit and thus can be advantageously applied in implementing SoC (System-on-Chip) for a low power, high integration, low price and subminiature wireless transceiver circuit.
