摘要: The present invention provides an antiglare film that has a thin antiglare layer and suppresses generation of scintillation and white muddiness at significantly high levels, while maintaining the hard-coating property and antiglare property, thereby providing favorable high-contrast display images. The present invention is an antiglare film including: a light-transmitting substrate; and an antiglare layer that has surface roughness and is provided on one face of the light-transmitting substrate, wherein the antiglare layer has plural rod-shaped projections having an aspect ratio of at least 2 on the opposite side of the surface contacting the light-transmitting substrate, the projections of the antiglare layer occupy 20 to 40%, per unit area, of the opposite side of the surface contacting the light-transmitting substrate, and NT indicating the number of all projections and NS indicating the number of rod-shaped projections among all the projections, per unit area of the surface of the antiglare layer, satisfy the following formula (1): NS/NT>0.2  (1).

摘要: A polarizing-plate-protecting film 10 comprising a polyester film 1 such as polyethylene terephthalate film, and an adhesion-facilitating layer 2 formed on one surface of the polyester film 1, made of a hydrophilic cellulosic resin such as acetyl cellulose. On the other surface of the polyester film 1, a variety of functional layers 3 such as a hard coat layer, an anti-glaring layer, and an antireflection layer are layered. The hard coat layer 3 is a layer formed by curing, with an electron beam, an ionizing-radiation-curable resin into which an ultraviolet light absorber has been incorporated. A polyvinyl alcoholic polarizing film 5 is laminated to the adhesion-facilitating layer 2 of the polarizing-plate-protecting film 10 with a water-based adhesive layer 4 to form a polarizing plate 20.

摘要: Disclosed are an antiglare film having a high level of anti-scintillation properties, high sharpness of transmitted images, high light transmittance (total light transmittance), and a high level of external light reflection preventive properties, and a process for producing the antiglare film. A resin and non-agglomerative particles having a specific particle diameter are selected so that the difference in refractive index between the resin and the particles is 0.05 to 0.15. The resin and the non-agglomerative particles are brought to a coating composition using, as a solvent, a good solvent for the resin and a poor solvent for the resin. The coating composition is coated onto a substrate film to form a coating which is then dried. In the course of the drying, as the amount of the good solvent in the coating decreases, the poor solvent acts to cause the gelation of the particles and the resin. Thus, good concaves and convexes can be advantageously formed on the surface of the coating. The layer thus formed can meet various property requirements for antiglare films.
