[Means For Solving Problems] An Adhesive composition for optical fibers containing (A) a component having a reactive silicon containing group which contains (e) a compound obtained by reacting (a) an epoxy compound having at least one epoxy group with (b) a silane coupling agent having both a reactive silicon containing group and an epoxy-reactive group, wherein the component (A) has a molecular weight of 1000 or below per reactive silicon containing group; and an adhesive composition for optical fibers containing an alkylsilyl ester and (B) a compound other than the alkylsilyl ester which has at least one reactive silicon containing group.

    摘要: The present invention provides a biomimetic odor sensor that utilizes neither an oxide semiconductor nor a quartz oscillator, is hardly affected by the atmospheric moisture, simple in structure, inexpensive in production cost, fast in reaction rate, of a wet type, and provided with the condition close to the condition of the nasal mucosa of the human olfactus organ. The sensor 10 according to the present invention includes a mixed material 12 in which β-carotene and a reducing agent to prevent the oxidation of the β-carotene are dispersed in a viscous liquid, and a cathode electrode 16 and an anode electrode 18 are disposed so as to be in contact with the mixed material 12.

    摘要: A body motion sensor, such as an SAS diagnostic device, with which a subject can be examined in a state close to that in an ordinary living environment and it is possible to clearly discriminate between an apnea state and a hypopnea state by means of a relatively simple analytical method; and an optical fiber sheet suitable for use in the sensor. The body motion sensor, such as an SAS diagnostic device, comprises a light source such as an LED, an optical fiber sheet, and an analysis unit that determines fluctuations in the quantity of light outputted from the optical fiber sheet and detects motions of the body. As the optical fiber sheet, use is made of an optical fiber sheet comprising a planar object, such as a fabric, paper, or plastic sheet, and graded-index optical quartz fibers directly or indirectly disposed thereon or affixed thereto When the sheet is produced, it is preferred to use a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet comprising a sheet support, such as paper or fabric, and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer formed thereon.

    摘要: A guided-wave circuit with a phase adjusting plate which adjusts optical path length errors, occurring during the manufacture of PLC, by an additional processing performed after the production of the PLC; and a method for producing the guided-wave circuit. A guided-wave circuit with an amplitude adjusting plate which adjusts the amplitude characteristics of light by an additional processing performed after the production of the PLC; and a method for producing the guided-wave circuit. A guided-wave circuit with a birefringence adjusting plate which adjusts the birefringence of light by an additional processing subsequent to the manufacture of the PLC; as well as a method for producing the guided-wave circuit. The guided-wave circuit includes a groove crossing a plurality of waveguides constituting the optical waveguides, a plate having optical characteristics spatially changed so as to adjust the optical characteristics at the intersections of the plate with the optical waveguides when the plate is inserted into the groove, and an adhesive for fixing the plate in the groove. The guided-wave circuit also includes both a phase adjusting plate and an amplitude adjusting plate to achieve further improvement in the optical characteristics. An apparatus for producing these optical characteristics adjusting plates is also included.
